I tried to swallow this one but I simply can’t!!!
how come that our defensive leader, the most experienced player on our roster, our best defensive player ever after those four HoF legends, doesn’t dunk that ball into the turf?
he lost us just enough yards with that stupid INT to lose the game. I am aware that our offense screwed that last drive and refs missed the facemask call but if you are Lavonte David, you should NEVER give the opponent even 0,1% chance to win more than sou got to do
I am truly pissed with that play
nearly a week has passed from that game, and this is still keeping you up at night, eh?
Just before that drive, we had the ball at Atlanta 32; Bucky springs free for 7 yards only to fumble.
This is a dagger to put one in Cousins carving them up all night. Plus, it's just human nature. Defenders rarely get to touch the ball. David is a HOF and that was just his 13 INT in his 13 year career and first since 2020.
So we got the ball at Atlanta 28 instead of their 15. With Chase, not the end of the world. what do we do?
First play, negative 3 yard run with White? really?
second play, Barton holding penalty sets us back to Atlanta 41
third play? a negative 2 yard pass to White
fourth play? a one yard run by Buck Irving. WTF? Why not try to throw.
We went full Ben Stiller in tropic thunder on that drive and not David's fault.
If we started at the 15, make no mistake we would have had back to back penalties to put us out of field goal range.
it was game vs. division rival, and now that saints are without qb that particular game might decide our division.
p.s. Lavonte is great player but no matter how much we would love that to hapoen, he is never going into HoF :-(
Tbf to the pick, if he makes one person miss he might take it to the house.
But we were in Fg range... The play calling was just as bad as Bengals running 3 times then kicking a 55 yard fg.
When you play that conservative, you'll cost your team.
The modern NFL values risk taking.
Coen running on 3rd to make them use a TO was asinine.

Yes, he is.

Patrick Willis made it in 2024
Zach Thomas made it in 2023
Patrick Willis - 8 years, averaged 111 tackles a season; 20.5 sacks for career and 8 INT
Zach Thomas - 13 years, averaged 102 tackles a season, 20.5 sacks for career and 17 INT
Lavonte David - 12 years, 5 games; averaged 97 Tackles, 35.5 sacks for career, and 13 INT
he is also a Super Bowl Champ. Albeit they may look back at this INT as something to keep him out of it
Now he may not be first ballot but he will get in somewhere between then and how long it took Ronde Barber/John Lynch to get in.
patrick willis and zach thomas: 5 times all pro, 7 times pro bowl, twice nfl tackle leader
lavonte 1x all pro and pro bowl.
unfortunately no way. apart from lombardi nothing speaks for him

pro bowl more a popularity contest no?
The NFL hall of fame is not the MLB hall of fame; would be shocked if David doesn't get in.
Do you have Bobby Wagner or Luke Kuechly getting in?
If I had to guess, those 2 probably would be willing to trade all of that for a chance to hoist the Lombardi above their heads. Tom Brady himself said screw the pro-bowl, we're tryin to win a superbowl

lol. Well played
