Are you guys serious?
There was ZERO percent change Adams was coming here. He's a California guy. He was going to LA to finish his career NO MATTER WHAT.
Seeing how that the options were limited in FA, I would've made drafting a backer a priority. Putting your eggs in Dennis was a huge mistake and one I said would be before the off-season. All camp long they were trying hype him up. He flashed in a few games but there was not enough tape to tab him as your ILB. For as smart X's and O's Bowles is, his lack of foresight will always get the best of him. The MOF defense have been a problem for YEARS. Devin White, Britt, Dennis, it don't matter the MOF is still a weak spot in the pass defense. And what does Bowles do? Hmm, lets throw the unproven 5th round player who hasn't proven much and make him the starter.
I wanted Carson Schwesinger. Filled need, plus a stud, and would have saved us the headache of looking for a long-term replacement. Instead, drafts WR Emeka Ebuka who I'm not mad at considering BPA and think he will be good. They bet on Dennis to be a stud which was a stupid gamble, really on Bowles. If I was GM, I would of tried to gauge where Carson was going to land. Maybe in another universe there's a possibility you could trade pick 53, plus a pick next year to get your LB of the future....When the time is in win-now state, its not always the best to sit and wait for players. Licht should be more aggressive
Yeah I don't think it's realistic but that's the question posed
We had to sign him
Now we play the Falcons and probably without Reddick and Smith? and another shuffled line/
im just glad Wirfs was healthy enough to do his "Mario Kart Course" power rankings.
cant wait to see what bullshit they have in store this week instead of focusing on beating top 5 draft pick teams.
Wut? Mario kart course? Jesus...
licht could of, and should of, signed Davonte Adams for a smaller deal than he gave Godwin.
I might be wrong, but dont they basically have the same deal? Maybe I missing guarantees or something, I just recall the timing seemed like maybe Godwin and the Bucs were waiting on the Adams deal?
Either way thought its 28ish versus 32ish and Godwin is a centerpiece of the team for years, so it probably make sense they went with Godwin, even if less helpful this year. Only time will tell though.
I am a fan of Adams too. Just think that team have a tendency to favor resigning their own, for a number of reasons.
yeah plus this isn't Madden
no issue with them resigning Godwin. Sure this year was a wash but if he can resemble his old self where we saw some glimmer of hope, he is currently our #1 guy
No guarantee Evans returns next season as well
The title of the thread is "Crystal Ball".
So it's ok to suspend some disbelief and vent

yeah not sure if you watch you tube but it was on the bucs channel with Wirfs and Barton. Very cute coming off a win; not so much having our worst lost in half a decade.
The saints ran the ball 32 times and Dennis finished with 1 solo tackle (when he touched Olave on the ground after a third down conversion) and 2 team tackles.
Izien came in and has 8 tackles midway through the third.
List move Izien to MLB and be done with this trash.
Dennis should legit be moved to special teams

Barton vs JPJ
In the 2025 NFL season, Jackson Powers-Johnson (Raiders Center) generally had strong PFF grades, showing elite run-blocking and overall performance, especially at center, while Graham Barton (Buccaneers Guard/Center) faced inconsistency, often graded lower in pass-blocking but showed potential, playing multiple positions, though specific direct PFF grade comparisons for all of 2025 aren't in these snippets, JPJ stood out as a top young lineman. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Jackson Powers-Johnson (JPJ) - Raiders:
• High Grades: Earned high marks, including an elite 90.6 overall grade in a start at center and high run-blocking grades (91.7).
• Center Specialist: Showed elite potential at center, a position where PFF generally sees higher grades, ranking among top centers in pre-season lists.
• Breakout Candidate: Viewed as a breakout player for 2025, with strong performance metrics. [2, 4, 5, 6]
Graham Barton - Buccaneers:
• Inconsistent Grades: Had some poor game grades, like a 32.7 pass-blocking grade in Week 7, but also better run-blocking games.
• Positional Versatility: Played multiple spots (guard/center), which often leads to more varied grades, notes Heavy Sports, Raiders Beat ( https://www.raidersbeat.com/powers-johnson-gets-2nd-highest-pff-grade/) and YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBtczhx1MX8). [2, 3, 4, 7]
Key Takeaway: JPJ looked like a top-tier, consistent center according to PFF in 2025, while Barton was a versatile but less consistently graded lineman who still showed flashes. [2, 3, 5]

I would at least hold on the Barton judgment because the line has been such a mess. hard to fairly judge a C playing LT and then C with revolving doors on both sides. hes probably a good pick.
Licht did not have to sign Godwin. Sure he had loyalty to Godwin, but Godwin would have been fine getting signed by another team. He wasn't going to be out on the street. But Godwin is a true Buccaneer so they resigned him and everybody cheered... except me. Look there comes a time when you move on from players whether it's Warren Sapp or John Lynch or even Mike Evans. There has to be a time when the price is not right. Licht is all about loyalty, and that's why he gets the respect that he does. But there has to be times when the GM has to be the bad guy. The GM has to be a cold calculating businessman at times, and that's where Licht has room for improvement. It's all great to keep the band together...until it's not.
A lot of complaining about the Godwin re signing. If Mcmillan and Evans weren't out all year and he was able to ease his way back and be full strength next year no one would have an issue with it. He's the least of the issues.

what player did we miss on because he resigned Godwin?
Thats the part I dont get. As BChavez points out hes the least of the problems. The tram has had an incredible blow of injuries across the board this season. Shoot if anything Godwin plays a part in us getting Egbuka.
I doubt this is his last season

Bucs getting rid of Warren Sapp and John Lynch for the likes of Charlie Garner....yeah....didn't agree with then and still dont to this day
Godwin is clearly our best WR right now. He's coming back from injury. I wouldn't write it off just yet.
and makes even more sense if Evans retires this year.
Godwin is a whiff this year. It's just basic math.
He has under 200 yards and he's making 20 million.
He will finish under 500 yards. That awful return.
But he's also playing this way because we left him in late. I was in favor of signing him out of loyalty. It sucks but it's what it is.
Chris Godwin was signed to a 3 year $66 million contract.
Davante Adams was signed to a 2 year $44 million contract.
just as I said originally.
what can’t be overlooked is that Godwin was 5 months removed from a horrific injury while Adams was healthy. We can all see now how that’s playing out for us and the Rams. Licht made a huge mistake. And for the record, I love Chris. I just think he shouldn’t of been resigned following that injury.
Captain Hindsight to the rescue! to infinity and beyond!!!
Adams turning 32 season and thats when WRs tend to drop off. He broke 1,000 yards last year but was not Adams old with Rodgers throwing to him.
He is fantasy beast this year with 14 TDs but he has Matt Stafford throwing him the ball in a prolific offense. So yeah easy to look at numbers now and say....we should have signed Adams. Dont think there were many posters claiming that in March 2025.
Chris Godwin is 3 years younger and likely our #1 guy in 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Sure was there a bit of "man we owe the guy after another Todd Bowles brain dead decision". Yeah...but i dont think the contract is quite Ryan Jensen contract just yet.
hindsight??? Godwin was injured BEFORE he was resigned, not after.
Licht signed a severely damaged player. That’s on him.
