Les Snead Open To Trading Away Number Two PickBy Blaine Grisak - Dec 30th, 2013 at 6:51 pmLessnead_Zpscbcab934.JpgYou know the offseason has begun when your general manager comes out of hiding. Rams general manager Les Snead did just that by hinting that the number two overall pick is up for grabs for the right price. “There are going to be some teams that want to pick a quarterback, and that could increase the value of our pick,” Snead told Peter King of Sports Illustrated. ”I have told people I’m not sure I know how to draft without multiple first-round picks, so I’m always going to be interested when it comes to making sure I can continue to do that.” This could be a case of De Je Vu as Les Snead pulled off one of the biggest trades in 2012 traded the number two pick away to the Washington Redskins so that they could be sure to select quarterback Robert Griffin III. The Rams once again have the number two overall pick, only this time it is not their own, it is the pick that the received from Washington. There should be plenty of trade partners for the Rams as teams will do what seems like anything  to get their franchise quarterback, and either Bridgewater or Clowney being available at the Rams’ pick, one team will make the move for the right price. Trading down would make a lot of sense for the Rams as they have said that they are committed to Bradford which takes any of the quarterbacks out of the equation and Clowney wouldn’t make a lot of sense with Chris Long and Robert Quinn. It takes two to tango, but it looks like the Rams are openly looking to trade away their number two pick, now it’s just a matter of finding a partner. http://ramblinfan.com/2013/12/30/les-snead-open-trading-away-number-two-pick/?utm_source=FanSided&utm_medium=Network&utm_campaign=Around%20the%20Network

It will probably take too much.

I would consider it if Bridgewater was sitting there.

it seems like bridgewater would go to Houston but I think with the Texans' roster they'd be better served going after a veteran like jay cutler since they are built to win now. they shouldn't wait to develop a qb. with the rams, I think they SHOULD take bridgewater at #2 since Imo sam Bradford is just an average qb and that's not counting his injury issues. but I guess they still have faith in him. no way teddy drops past #3 to Jacksonville though. we could move from 7 to 2 but it would take an rg3 esque trade and can we really afford to give up a few 1sts and 2nds when we have so many holes?

I hate the idea of being so short sighted. Why cripple your team trading away multiple picks when you have so many holes? The texans should take Bridgewater and still bring in Cutler for a few years. Best of both worlds.

Houston will take Bridgewater or trade the pick themselves. Trading to #2 does no good unless you are really high on Clowney.

If there were a QB worth trading up for, I'd be ok with it, despite the likely cost.  I'm less than convinced that it would make sense to do so in this draft though.
