Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy criticized Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, saying he wouldn’t want him on his team and prefers Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis. “I would take Darrelle Revis, he’s better,” McCoy told Sirius XM Radio. “If you watch Darrelle Revis’ tape, if you take his best clips, it’s not even close.” http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/LeSean-McCoy-says-Revis-is-better-than-Sherman.html
Yeah.....Revis pre-acl was better than Sherman, post-acl....not so much. Still good though.

Nope, Revis is still better.
Sherm gets saved by the system a bit, but revis is an island. We've seen very good fa corners go to other teams, and fade out as the system didn't suit them (scrabble comes to mind). That wasn't the case for revis.Heck, revis was even off his element (man coverage) a lot this past season, and his stats are still impressive.

Revis is a very good CB, but let's not kid ourselves....he's not even close the the Revis Island days.

I would honestly take Revis and Patrick Peterson over Sherman.

That's the MYTH.

Sherman has NEVER been close to having his own island. Revis was just as good as Sherman was last year in Schiano's scheme which didn't fit his strengths and he was coming off a torn ACL.
Boom !!!!!!!!!

Ramon, you're a joke. Revis isn't even at the point where you could call him "post-acl". Watch tape Ramon, do some legitimate research. Watch things like hips, footwork, physical contact within the first 5 - yds, closing speed, etc.. Sherman is a strong CB, but Revis WAS better than Sherman and his technique STILL is better. Revis had the lowest yards per play allowed in 2013 when he was targeted, even lower than Sherman's AND Revis isn't even "post-acl". You can't say a guy is post-acl in their FIRST season back from the injury in which they weren't able to participate in camp, OTAs or even their own off-season routine. Sherman is a beast in the 'hawks system. I won't argue with that, but Revis almost certainly is the better CORNER in terms of technique and ability. Shady has got this one right.
All the hype Sherman has received is because of all the hype Seattle has received of course. The real stud on that defense is Earl Thomas and then Sherman is second.
Here is the fact of the matter. Sherman is a baller. He kills it in that defense. He is part of a great secondary. He does his job better than anyone else. With all that being said, he is not versatile like Revis. Sherman lines up on one side of the field. Presses the outside receiver and plays man if it's a go route. Otherwise he just presses and drops to his third. Revis can play man anywhere on the field with any type of technique. Revis is the most complete cover corner in the game.

+1, not to discredit Sherman in any way, Revis is the total package...and I believe once he's 100% this season, people will shut the hell up about thinking he's overrated.
