Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that Frazier told her that he is “headed to Tampa” to be the new defensive coordinator for the Buccaneers.Frazier was mentioned as a possibility for the coordinator position shortly after Smith was reported as Tampa’s choice to replace Greg Schiano. Cowboys defensive line coach Rod Marinelli, who worked with Smith in Chicago, was also mentioned in relation to the job, but there was some question as to whether the Cowboys would approve a move to Tampa.That appears to be a moot point now that Frazier is headed to Tampa. Frazier worked as an assistant under Tony Dungy in Indianapolis, so there’s plenty of familiarity with the scheme that Smith, who worked for Dungy in Tampa, prefers to run.He joins offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford as members of Smith’s first staff as the head coach in Tampa.

I was reading that Marinelli actually prefers to coach the DL rather than being a DC because of the gameplanning involved as a DC.

Well, we tried to resurrect John McKay (Weekend at Bernie's style) and bring in Jon Gruden as OC and Dungy as DC but couldn't pull it off. Damn Glazers. F'n amateur night.
Welcome Leslie. I still say this team will live or die on offense not defense. Today's NFL is nothing like our hey day. Ronde even said as much that you can't get away with anything close to when he came into the league. If we succeed it will be because of Tedford not Frazier.

Karl Dunbar's contract with the Jets expired after this season...if he hasn't re upped he may be a candidate to be defensive line coach since he worked with Frazier in Minny for several seasons.

Doubt Marinelli would take the DC position in Dallas. Remember the Bears offered it to him after Lovie left, and he said NO THANKS, went to be with Kiffin instead. And as others noted, his contract in Dallas ends after this year...
