I'm not giving up on Rod as DL coach yet.  If he turns down the DC job and Jer Jer has to bring someone else in.  They may want there own especially if Rod doesn't want to be there.  Jer Jer may count Rod not being DC as win and fire him with the rest of the D staff whenever that happens.

That would be awesome, but you really think Marinelli would refuse the job as DC in Dallas to be the D-line coach in Tampa?

Where he is at in career and that Dallas D may be mess for a while.  Maybe? Aren't they way over the cap next year and you have to figure there's a good chance Jerry blowing the whole thing up soon.

Dallas has to grant him the ability to skip out on the final year of his contract. Dallas isn't going to fire him, if they do not grant him permission to go elsewhere, then he will either have to coach in Dallas in 2014 or retire. Most likely, Jerry will keep him around and give him the choice of DC or just remaining as the DL coach with an assistant HC tag to his name like he had at Tampa and Chicago.

Minnesota had the 32nd ranked defense this year and everyone is tickled pink to have their defensive "mastermind" as our new DC? http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2013/opp.htm

No, people are excited because as a defensive coordinator, his defense ranked 6th, 6th and 8th in total defense in his 3 years

And the personnel in Tampa isn't too shabby either.I have no doubt that Frazier will do wonders here.

Karl Dunbar's contract with the Jets expired after this season...if he hasn't re upped he may be a candidate to be defensive line coach since he worked with Frazier in Minny for several seasons.

didnt they fire him for sexual harassment or something like that?  I remember we all wanted him at one time.

in total yards Dallas had the 32nd ranked defense and you want to hire their line coach?  See how that works?

Can't find anything on why they fired Dunbar but he was doing a great job there so I don't see how it was performance based and I can swear I remember hearing something about sexual harassment or picking up prositutes ....he also coached for Lovie in Chicago so there is a strong connection with him and this new staff.

Kffl had something about Dunbar being charged with a crime, and Biggs also brought up that Dunbar was termed by Frazier once he was charged.  Don't know if he was arrested or not, but kffl was the website.

First off, there is a STRONG possibility we get Marinelli as our DL/AC AND Tony Sparano and our O-Line coach. That would make 5 past HCs that are on our staff.Second, if you want to know what Tedford has accomplished look no further then what he has sent to the NFL. He made a bunch of first round busts look like the next Joe Montana, because of how well he schemed for them. For example, Trent Dilfer, David Carr, Kyle Boller, Joey Harrington AND Akili Smith. From his resume it looks like he's better with shit QBs then good ones.. Perfect for Glennon.... lol

Until we start beating them...no one is groaning.  It's not like our owners have knocked the last two hires out of the park.  In fact, Lovie made the playoffs once in his last six seasons in Chi-Town.  Let's see some results and then you'll hear groaning.

I keep saying it and I'll say it again.  With the 4th best QB in the division and with two of those teams having good defenses it ain't going to be easy.

If he really wants to work with his apparent best friend Lovie Smith, he could wait a year and stick in Dallas, then next year come to Tampa as the DL coach with Assistant HC tag to justify a bit of a raise.

Nothing in life ever is.  But I have more confidence that at the very least we will be competitive.  What we had to endure these past years have been heart wrenching.  At least (imo) we are headed in the right direction.
