And when you do not have elite players on the BACK line you need a proper rotation.
Same thing, right?
it’s sort of circular. The Bucs played with a different backfield and a rotation of below average ILBs … almost every game. Some of the guys in that rotation don’t see the field on most defenses.
yes scheme definitely matters. So does coaching. So do injuries and talent

The team with the best edge rusher wins!
(the Bucs SB team had an MLB with nine sacks and ran a very effective double a gap blitz)

Youd have to explain the point youre making, I guess? Everyone agrees good edge rushers help. Warrens Sapp more effective with Simeon Rice and vice versa.
The 2024 Eagles had less sacks than the 2024 Bucs. The Eagles had DOUBLE the interceptions.
The two things go hand in hand. Diaby:
“Against the Raiders with the Tykee [Smith] interception,” Diaby said. “I came free and almost got to the quarterback. He threw it off his back foot and – interception. It’s little stuff like that I look at, ‘Damn, I’m just right there,’ but it’s still helping the team out.”
Not saying we need more coverage sacks, lol. I am saying you cant bet the farm on a DE and expect it to solve all the problem on the back end, which seems to be your point.
if you have an elite DL it doesn't really matter what you have behind.

Good edge rushers help? Thats what your take is? Jesus.
Bucs need to add 3 edge rushers. Not guys that play the run. Guys that will hunt the QB. Reddick, another FA and trade up for Mike Green
Reddick, another FA and trade up for Mike Green
Let’s see how that works out. You have quite a track record so maybe it’s a done deal!!
Not guys that play the run.
The Bucs defense was only good against the run because teams just chose to pass.
come on man

You're dealing with quite the football mind, here.

You aint' kidding. You and JC, both!
He thought Tucker was Emmitt Smith. And you?
Well.. lets go back to early last year and your prediction on WHITE
We’ll see who starts and gets more carries on Sunday. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that.
How'd that work out, Gumbo?

So how do you explain being 10th best in yards per carry allowed?

Last pass rusher I wanted to trade up for was JJ Watt

ILBs don't really impact if front line playesr on the line can win their 1 vs 1 match ups unless were are talking about overloading A gaps. Right now the Bucs have Vea, Kancey, Hall and Diaby but they run out of steam by not having a true starting edge with this group. And then an extra player to throw into that rotation.
I mean Gholston, Gaines, , Brewer and JTS is not going to cut it no matter how you slice it. We can complain about the ILB and DBs all we want but the biggest problem is not just a lack of a starter at edge opposite of Diaby. You need better depth players behind Vea, Kancey and Hall. Gholston has given his all and Gaines is what he is at this point but is maxed out. Brewer has had his moment but he isn't the best DL to come into a rotation if Vea or Kancey need a breather. And JTS isn't even in the conversation as I doubt he can progress to be better than Diaby, Watts, Ramirez or even Braswell.

didbt you previously say the 2024 Bucs defense was better than the 2023 defense?
now you sound like they need to “retool” the defense, but I thought that was not true either?
tough to follow
