FSU DB Lamarcus Joyner. Don't let his size fool you. He can come up in run support to blow up a RB or tattoo a WR down-field. At FSU we used him all over the secondary: CB, Safety and Nickel. Like Ronde we'd often blitz him from the nickel spot. He was a stand out KR too. Besides Winston I think he was our MVP. With his versatility he could play nickel corner or be a ball hawking safety. I've often thought Goldson and Barron have far too similar skill sets; we could really use a centerfielder back there. He's going to be a hell of a pro. Such great instincts and always plays with his eyes up. He's ready for everything!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!! I fully endorse this. Great call. Joyner is a frickin baller. He's a slightly bigger and more athletic looking Ronde. Like you said, extremely versatile. He would 100% be my second round pick.
I thought this was a thread about Jimmy G!I like Joyner tho.
A DB in the 2nd with all the holes Lovie needs to fill? Doubt it.
I don't worry so much anymore about "can he hit."Still, the kid is a good talent.
I would like to have him, but he's 5'8". I think a 2nd round pick would be too high. Certainly would be an upgrade over Leonard Johnson though. I wouldn't want him at safety going up against Jimmy Graham though.
Is he instinctual like Ahmad Black?
I'm leary about taking a 5'8 safety and converting him to corner .There's got to be a reason a guy that small wasn't playing corner to begin with. Probably because he struggles out there manned up with quicker guys.
Sorry but i'll pass.looking at the highlight video this guy would play one snap in todays NFL and get ejected from the game for deliberate targeting of the players head and then be suspended. i've watched twice and i'm pretty confident that those big hits would all be penalties and then everyone would bi-ot-ch about drafting him when he gives away free yards. Isn't this what people bash Gholdson for?
not cute enough
Lol

Translated - I root for the Gators.

Gotta agree; 2nd round ain't happenin'...

Joyner played safety and CB in high schoolhe played 2 years at CB and 2 at Safety at FSU. his senior season he played nickel corner a lot but was allowed to freelance and make plays. we put him at safety because we didn't have anyone that was a playmaker at that position in 2011 and he balled out, 2 time 1st team All ACC at S 2011 and 2012. hes plenty fast to stick with receivers. the only issue for him is his size.id love to get Joyner but hes not in play for us in the 2nd round. we will be going TE,OL,DE,WR in that round in some form or fashion
