I know no one here wants to believe it but hear me out. I'm not giving excuses for Schiano so put your flamethrowers away, just being realistic.Glazers don't want to become the owners who have fired 3 coaches in 5 years. That's just bad business for them.  Everyone in this organization has some soul searching to do including the Glazers. I'm honestly not sure anyone gets fired but I think Sully is gone after the season to coach elsewhere. The Freeman situation doesn't matter at all anymore. Honestly, Schiano will be evaluated on the last half of the season. Our team hasn't looked good but we don't look any worse than the last half of the season last year. Our offense was flying high last year because we had all of our starters... This year we are missing MW and Dougie. Nicks is a moot point he hasn't played much anyway. If you think our offense should put up numbers that are even close with Rainey and underwood (and a rookie Qb taboot) as replacements you should be shot. Last point, have you ever seen a team with our situation this before? Ever? In 30 years of watching the NFL I have never seen a dumpster fire quite like the bucs in 2013. Complete meltdown from freeman (our franchise QB), an offense that loses two of its three biggest playmakers, three of four if you dare to count freeman. When we were 0-7 I legitimately thought we were going 0-16 this year. It's a miracle we even won 4 games thus far. He's going to get one more year. If we don't make the playoffs next year he is outta here but I really don't see the glazers firing him in year two. If I'm wrong I will gladly eat my fair share of crow. I think many of us will be disappointed on black Monday when nothing comes out of one buc, but we can't become the Oakland raiders firing coaches every 2 years

Unfortunately, you're probably right and he will be back next year. The Glazers don't care much about the team and aren't ready to admit that they've made 2 awful hires in a row.

Jim Schwartz is in his fourth or fifth season. That has nothing to do with our situation.

I sure hope you are right.  The Buc fans I talk with agree.  Will be very happy on "black Monday" if Coach stays.

I'm not sure that they don't care, but I agree that they don't want to admit a mistake so soon.

I do see your point, however, I do think that if you go up to prospective coaches and say "The team completely quit on Raheem, and if you go 11-21, yes, your job will be in jeopardy", then they wouldn't be losing on anybody.  This isn't Dan Snyder firing Marty Schottenheimer after one year when they went 8-8.  This is simply a run with historically terrible coaches that are not doing their job, and I think most coaches are aware of that.

Last point, have you ever seen a team with our situation this before? Ever? In 30 years of watching the NFL I have never seen a dumpster fire quite like the bucs in 2013.

It took unique leadership to create the 2013 cluster "penetration" we call the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That leadership falls squarely on Schiano. I think it's possible he is retained, because S&!T happens w/o strong leadership. But there is no question that this guy is the orchestrator of what we are looking at. What he has made of this team is on him. He decided how Freeman was handled. (getting us nothing in return.). He decided Talib, Bennett and Blount were not Schiano men. He determined how the MRSA stuff was handled.  And you know that in his mind, he was smart enough to overcome any deficit created by the loss of this talent. This is the most bizarre situation I have seen in the NFL and I have been around the game for 30 years, as well. It takes a very "special man" to create this ish! And he needs to go! Otherwise, expect more of the same in 2014.

Can't sell tickets or create buzz with Schiano here, it's business sense. 11-21 is what will be talked about all off season32nd ranked offenseMis use of Revis, bad game management, bad college coach etc etc all will be talked about to death in the off season by the local media and fans. Things like that don't create buzz for the Bucs to sell tickets and get people excited about the team. With all that said I think the Glazers don't want to admit to 2 bad hires in a row and will bring him back.

I agree that it falls squarely on schiano and I do think he realizes that. Maybe I'm wrong, but I do think he will change his approach next year. He has the guys he wants on this team ( took a while, Wright and Freeman were the last vestiges) and if it fails in year 3 it's over. I think the biggest thing we should be criticizing is if schiano saw the freeman collapse coming how come we didnt bring in a Vet to compete? If we had Carson Palmer I bet we would look a lot like the cardinals.
