I'm convinced that many of you Schiano haters are direct descendants of the "fans" that  displayed "throw Mckay in the Bay" bumper stickers on their vehicles back in the day.  They scraped them off after we hosted the NFC championship.

Sadly, I'm with the faction that believes that Schiano will get another year. If he was a better game day coach, I'd be perfectly happy with that, but sadly, I just don't see Greg improving enough to get the job done. What might save him next season is that he does seem to have a good eye to evaluate talent as well as getting that talent to play a a high level. So the team might do well enough in spite of the fact that Schiano is a poor game coach.I'm encouraged that he showed signs during the year of change and I think the Glazers will see that as a positive. My hope at this point is that Greg gets a top veteran NFL OC to replace Sullivan and while Sheridan hasn't been awful as a DC this year, I feel his defenses have been way too soft in the 2nd half of games. I'd love to see him replaced with Wannstedt as well. Those moves would at least give me some hope for next season, however, if he goes with McNulty as OC and leaves Sheridan in charge of the defense, I'm very afraid that we'll be right back in this position next year, only we definitely will be looking at a new coaching staff and another wasted year.

The problem isn't that we will be right back he it is that we will go 8-8 and have improvement that really just reflects averaging out of mediocrity and then get another year of Rutgers brand of suck. 4 years of wasted time with a low rent Jack Del Rio.

I was okay with Giving Schiano one more season to see what he could do. But after the 49ers game  what he said was ridiculous. I live in Sacramento so I get the local 49ers broadcast and as Mike Glennon shredded the 49ers D for a touchdown to end the half and then to have success with it again later. The announcers even were saying  the 49ers better be prepared to see alot more of that and the Bucs would be crazy to KEEP DOING WHAT WAS NOT WORKING!! I just cant understand that thought process by Greg. So you didn't practice the no huddle that much during the week. Well Hell Greggy its working and its the only way you have moved the ball all day. That sealed his fate to me. Either hes to stubborn or to stupid to adapt. Could you imagine Gruden doing that hell even dungy would have stuck with it for a while  at least until he caught up. But nope lets keep running up the gut, right at there strengths because we gotta keep this clock moving we gotta big lead I mean wait oh yeah You are LOSING ahhhhhhh this guy is making me go nutty LOL...But seriously that tells me he is very very stubborn to where it has become detrimental in many aspects. I will give some credit to the draft though we have had some pretty solid drafts the last 2 years. Lavonte david is my favorite player on the team. I never thought as im sure most of you guys did that there could ever ever be another linebacker like Mr. Derrik Brooks. But David to me has taken over and it is his defense, just like when sapp was here. Sapp was the brash loud mouth of the defense always taking to the media McCoy obviously isnt a loud mouth like sapp but he does alot of media stuff and David seems to be a  quiet reserved cerebral player Ala Brooks. anyhow I am officially in the Fire Schaino crowd now simply because he will not adapt on the fly, I see that a very bad sign. GO BUCS!!!!

Im just tired of being disappointed at the end (sometimes in the middle when the season is already been decided) of the season. I think we need some fresh faces and ideas here. I truly believe that if Schiano returns all he would do to save face is fire Sully, who would most likely be replaced by McNulty. The offense may change a litte but the philsophy will be the same, run the ball play great defense. At best we'll probably be fighting for the last playoff spot, only to get knocked off in the first round. Some might consider that a win but thats crap in my book. I want to take the league by storm, I want an innovative coach thats a GREAT GAMEDAY manager. I don't want to just make the playoffs, I want to make the playoffs thinking we really have a chance to go all the way. I want us to finally turn the corner like San Fran & Seattle did. Only way that happens is if we change the regime.

He will stick for 2014.  Playoffs or he's not here in 2015.No other opportunity/aspect of this situation makes any sense logically.  The alternatives are worse in almost every way at this point.  So many contributing factors to a decision like this...90% certain Sullivan will be gone though...  Can't have the 32nd Offense in the league and survive.  I really hope they focus on the off offense this season.  Keep Bostad, Byner and maybe Loney, McNulty and Garrett if the new OC sees them as fit.As hardcore fans (the ones on a message board) we're blinded by our emotional investment in this team (good, bad, etc)  - hence either our apathetic or disgusted view points.  and FWIW -  That is NOT the case nor perspective of/for the Glazers, Dominik or Schiano.

Lets be realistic. If schiano stays in 2014. We will not be making the playoffs. Has anyone looked at our schedule next year. It's filled with well coached teams. Gregory isn't beating a well coached team. He hasn't beaten one yet his entire tenure here. I hope the glazers are prepared for the shitstorm that will come their way when Gregory goes 4-12 and gets another season. Who cares if they play hard? Backup qbs and rookie qbs have proven to be too good for gregorys d to handle.

Maybe you're right. But this thread is about the signs pointing to him staying in 2014. Not speculating about what's going to happen during the season in 2014.

If Schiano is going to be dumped, it is a complete mystery to the media who seem collectively to believe he's back. In fact, some don't even have him on the hot seat.

What's funny is all knowing pat yasinskas has him on the hot seat when he loses and off it when he wins. Lets just say pat has no clue what is going on and has no inside sources.

I am resigning myself to the fact that few changes will be made and we'll be stuck with this coaching staff and quarterback for another season.

This is pretty much it.  I see it, most of us see it, and I'm pretty sure the GLazers see it too.  This isn't a guy who's brilliance was stymied by circumstance.  He's a poor coach who was crushed by circumstance.  All those people saying "let's see what he can do next year" are simply asking for another season of fail.  He might improve next year to something around the .500 mark, if everything goes well, but that is pretty clearly his ceiling.
