SF has too many picks and will have to burn some in trade.  Some teams might really like a QB or have a strong vibe on Mack or Barr who will be there at 7. It isn't that there might not be desirable players at 7 but they may not be that desirable for us or at least not distinguishable from a group of other prospects that would still be there if we moved back.

I would trade picks in next year's draft to get picks in this draft if there is a player worth it. Remember there are over 90 underclassmen in this draft, most ever. Next year is going to be a light class, whereas there have been a lot execs who have hinted this could be the deepest ever.

our 7 and next years first for Bridgewater or Clowney.  Otherwise stand pat or preferably trade down...

I'm almost never in favor of giving away a future first rounder for a draft pick. QB might be the only one I'd consider.

I don't believe lovie will trade down. He's either going to jump up for one of the top three qb's, or stay put and draft carr (history) or watkins(speed in space)..

Put this in another, less applicable thread...I'd go back to twenty with the cardinals.  (Licht's former team)    Get their 2nd and 3rd this year and roll with it.  They are picking at #20 in each round. That would give us 20, 38, 52, 84, 100 ... etc.    Five picks in the first 100 spots.    20 - TE Eric Ebron38 - WR Brandin Cooks52 - OG Xavier Su'a-Filo84 - QB Jimmy Garoppolo100 - DE Kareem Martin....etc.DE and C in Free agency.

There are waaaaay too many QB needy teams for Garoppolo to make it out of the 2nd round. Polian, who i'm no fan of, says he won't be ther when Houston makes their pick at #33.

Bucs don't have a ton of big holes, maybe a bunch of small ones and a big ? At qb. Unless someone unexpected slides to the bucs, you have to imagine they are going to try to trade down. They are short a couple picks and this is a deep draft. They need a pass rusher(I think they fill in FA), an offensive linemen or two, slot wr, te, nickel, that's really about it other than depth. No team is going to ever fill every single hole. No sb winning team had a team without any holes. There's always going to be average joes filling out the roster. If the bucs can address a spot or two in fa, they have the draft to get their depth and hopefully fill another hole or two. This roster isn't far off from being a contender, but their biggest question mark is at qb. That right there is the deciding factor IMO.They are either going to go after their qb, or trade down to get some extra picks and get a contributor at another spot. Only way they stand pat is if someone falls or they can't find a trade partner IMO.

If Derek Carr is "the guy"...we are pretty f**ked

We're in the same boat with Glennon so what's the difference?

Pretty much but a 1st round draft gives us a 5th rookie year option where a 2nd like Glennon doesn't so cap room is another plus for drafting a new QB. And even a top 10 pick is at best a 50/50 item. They should just pick up McCown and call it a day. While McCown isn't the best QB he should be better then anything the Buc's can draft.

What does McCown solve for us? Seriously, assuming he is better than Glennon which 12 of his 13 years in the NFL do not say BTW, that gets us to a nice little 6-10 figure or something? Maybe 8-8 and then when the 34,35 year old McCown retires we do what at QB....go back into the draft with a worse position?R

Oh and BTW, any QB you want to pick up a 5th year option on, is going to redo his deal before you ever use that option.

What's worse is you can't offer anything useful on how to solve the problem. All you can do is rip others for doing what you cannot. Sad man very sad! On the positive side that's why I love these forums. You guys create some great drama and entertainment. Just pick a topic you won't touch but will attack and watch the fireworks. Muahhahahahaha!
