If Derek Carr is "the guy"...we are pretty f**ked

We're in the same boat with Glennon so what's the difference?

A top 10 pick ?

Pretty much but a 1st round draft gives us a 5th rookie year option where a 2nd like Glennon doesn't so cap room is another plus for drafting a new QB. And even a top 10 pick is at best a 50/50 item. They should just pick up McCown and call it a day. While McCown isn't the best QB he should be better then anything the Buc's can draft.

Oh and BTW, any QB you want to pick up a 5th year option on, is going to redo his deal before you ever use that option.

We'll see won't we? http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/1/13/5305168/nfl-draft-class-2011-contract-extensions-fifth-year-options-cam-newton

What does McCown solve for us? Seriously, assuming he is better than Glennon which 12 of his 13 years in the NFL do not say BTW, that gets us to a nice little 6-10 figure or something? Maybe 8-8 and then when the 34,35 year old McCown retires we do what at QB....go back into the draft with a worse position?R

There are no viable solutions to the puzzle only patches to hold us over for now. Given that you pick the best patch you can. What's your solution to the current scenario? Too timid to say?

Worst...reason...ever.  Plus Glennon was a 3rd there guy.

What's worse is you can't offer anything useful on how to solve the problem. All you can do is rip others for doing what you cannot. Sad man very sad! On the positive side that's why I love these forums. You guys create some great drama and entertainment. Just pick a topic you won't touch but will attack and watch the fireworks. Muahhahahahaha!

Ive offered it plenty.  Wait and see what we have with Glennon in '14 under real coaching.  This is a crappy QB class.  Dont force something you dont have to.  Dont get all defensive just because I informed you that you were wrong about what round he was picked or that drafting a QB in the first round just to get the extra year on his contract was a colossally dumb idea.  Its a msg board, grab a tissue if you cant own your dumb comment.

Given that QB's get better year 1 to year 2 Glennon is my answer. If he fails to get much better then we are back into the draft again. There is no long term answer other than Glennon (or a draftee this year). Anything else is bandaiding things and making it worse moving forward.

I could care less what round Glennon was picked or what you think of the 5th year option. The Buc's already proved the 5th year option mattered when they trade up for Martin for that reason. I do enjoy the fact you like to bill it that way for drama reasons. I wouldn't expect anything less from you! I especially like the part where you place all your faith in a college coach to improve Glennon.

Sounds like a wonderful argument for rolling with Glennon.

If he turns out to the best option then sure. As of right now he's not though. If the best we can do is Glennon then they need to copy the Pat's and drop everything into the OL. That way a monkey could be the QB (Cassel).

I've read that he lights up when you mention Kahlil Mack too, FWIW. But I think our best move is to trade down as far down as possible and then draft BPA.

frustrating to only have 5 picks in one of the deepest draft ever... if Licht receive a good trade down offer it's a no-brainer!
