This is one of the most untold stories of Licht's incompetence as a GM. The best drafters work the compensatory pick system to get extra picks. Which is why Belichick has averaged ~10 picks/draft and Snead ~9 and Jason Licht ~6.5.
This year the Patriots and Rams are getting TWO 3rd round compensatory picks. You all remember all the free agents and players the Rams added, right?
Well, because they have a competent front office they worked the system to still get TWO extra premium picks.
The Rams are projected to get two 3rds and a 7th and the Patriots two 3rds, a 5th, and a 7th.
The Bucs again have 0 compensatory picks. The first, and only, time Licht has gotten a compensatory pick is last year with a 7th. Unfortunately, for letting Bradley McDougald walk.
