I'd have to go back and look but I think the only late game stop we got was the David pick vs Atlanta.
Stop thinking, you're too dumb.

Again, the irony is rich.

Clever. No retort. White flag bitch ass comment
We will see if this draft turns out to be defensive heavy or if Bowles and Licht are correct that they want the best players available and it will end up being a more balanced draft.
end up being a more balanced draft.
If you're just counting the total players selected "more balanced draft" is easily the heavy favorite.
I don't know that the Bucs have had a "defensive heavy" draft since 2019, if you're going by total selections and even then they took a kicker and at least one offensive player.
Maybe the better metric is what do they do with premium picks, especially in a deep draft? Like in 2019 where they went all defense with their first 3 picks, IIRC. Maybe first 4 picks. I don't think we see that kind of "defensive heavy" this draft because that was a coaching change year and because the Bucs defensive need is depth on the back end and those are not necessarily premium pick players.
Should be interesting. I wonder if they will trade back, deep draft and all.
It is also already a bit of defensive heavy offseason though, if you look at the changes.
They let a starting edge and a starting LB and a starting safety go. One starter at every level.
I dont think they let any OFFENSIVE starters or substantial contributors, right? Maybe Skule or Hainsey are the closest, but both depth guys.
Their "big move" of the offseason was Reddick, a key defensive position.
They let Neal, Thomas and Edwards go, so a bunch of the back end depth. Hayes was already under contract but they resigned Hall to change that (barring injury)
If the Bucs had an NFL average defense last season they win more games and make a deeper playoff run.
absolutely
Defense was average. Offense choked in the 4th qtr vs Washington. Botching handoffs and snaps and you guys have the audacity to say "if the defense was average". Bunch of fucking morons.
Lol I swear to God you're just trolling with this stupidity. Nobody is this dumb. We all watched the defense.
I was thinking the same thing, Fire. He has to be trolling. He's actually posting for us not to believe our lying eyes OR THE FREAKING STATS!
Another way to think of it is to look at the last game of last season, a game where they are presumably putting their best available guys on the field.

Guys who are GONE
Mike Edwards played 82% of the snaps
JTS was 42% of the edge snaps
The second LB was Britt (260 JJ Russell *(30) and Jones (25)
*Russell is a great ST guy and he's back, but probably not as a 30% playoff starter
GUYS whose role has probably already changed (barring injury)
Anthony Nelson played 70% (I am a fan, but hes probably a depth guy in 2025) because of Reddick and even Braswell
Hayes was CB for 34% of the snaps
So that is 4-5 positions that the Bucs already changed and that is BEFORE the draft.
This is all contingent on how the Bucs have these players graded, but Bredeson and Otton are not good enough to pass on OL and TE if there's someone there at 19 they have a high grade on, like Banks and Warren. You also have Tet McMillan in play. Defensively everything is in play except I feel ILB would be a reach round 1. I could see it Day 2 but I want to see SVD and LVD next to eachother Week 1. Also don't like the idea of iDL at 19. They're already set with the top 4. Logan Hall is having the same career arc as Gholston, he has position versatility, does all the dirty work like eat double teams and set the edge, but fans and media want sacks. Gholston went from fans and media wanting him run out of town for the next flavor of the month to being a good piece on some really good teams. Want to add another guy Day 3 I'm all for it.
The problem with the Bucs defense last year was not necessarily lack of talent ON PAPER (as Alldaway likes to say) it was that INJURIES and lack of depth messed with what they had ON THE FIELD.
Already this offseason the Bucs moved on from an edge rusher starter, a host of ILBs starters and Safety starters. That speaks to the limited ON THE FIELD talent. A change at every level.
The have filled some of the gaps already. Reddick, SVD hopefully recovered (and Miami LB) and maybe moving Smith to Safety. To avoid the same problem as 2024 though they, at a minimum, need DEPTH at all of those positions and arguably better depth at CB
Except for maybe 2021 they are lately DRAFTING 3, 4 or even 5 starters, so its entirely possible that they use a premium pick on offense BUT it is also possible they UPGRADE some positions or depth/competition.
