D Line - Vita Vea, JPP, Carl Nassib
Most people are writing off McCoy's chances of sticking around for another season in Tampa. He could be cut, but more likely I think he could retire. He's taken a beating over the last decade. Wouldn't fault him for it. He has a family to consider. That said, the three guys mentioned above will be back next year. In the case of Vea and Nassib they could be here for a while, as JPP probably has a good 3 years left. Our top need in this department is a three technique that can generate pressure while Vea occupies the double team. Close behind is the need for a young, productive defensive end. I would be fine drafting so the position in round 1, and would strongly consider going back to the well in round 2.
Secondary - VH3, Justin Evans, CD3, Jordan Whitehead, MJ Stewart.
On paper it looks like we have a deep group of young players. The question is whether any of them are truly any good. They have all flashed at times, and have also had a lot of down moments as well. All of them should be back next year. The major emphasis is finding that stud #1 CB. That player, along with CD3 as the 2nd corner and VH3 in the nickel, our secondary could actually be really good.
Linebacker - Kendall Beckwith
You'll notice I left out David and Kwon. That's not to say they wont be here. I just don't think it's a lock. Kwon is a free agent with a bum knee. There's no guarantee he returns, that depends on the new regime. David is still a great player but could be valuable in a trade, and he does make pretty good money. Depending on who the regime keeps around, linebacker could be a major need, prompting a potential 1st round selection of LSU's Devin White, one of my favorites this year in the draft.
