It is interesting to note that Goodwin's move to Carolina is a lateral move. He was the AHC and Run Game Coordinator here too. Not a good look for Bowles
Canales has a SIX YEAR contract
Bowles has effectively one year left.
They would've been crazy NOT to go
(this is why we will have a rouble getting an OC and frankly why the Bucs might just Fire Bowles now. )

Bowles has one year left, but theses coaches had less security than that. They weren't even under contract for next year from what I understand. They were just waiting for the new OC to come in and they could be bringing in their own guys either right away or in a year from now. No matter how good you are you're not their guy, so you've got a strike against you from the start. Now they go to a place where they are hand picked by the HC who has a long term contract. It's a no brainer. Nothing Bowles could do about that.It is interesting to note that Goodwin's move to Carolina is a lateral move. He was the AHC and Run Game Coordinator here too. yes fooker, I’m awake and flexing my key strokes. Call it nonsensical all U want, it makes perfect sense to me-but I’m a pro at abstract logic, math, and theoretical conjecture. Throw in a large (who we kidding Gigantic) helping of eccentricity-and at Least 20-25% looney bin, no one likes plain vanilla. Anyhoo, you catch my joke in another thread…i crafted it just for u buddy!
I feel like this is a little bit of critical time for bucs franchise decision making because with right moves and leadership this team could go far again. I've not been sold on Bowles like many others. However I do give him credit for a tough season that many said was a down year for tampa and we were one win from conference finals. Can't complain too much with that and i completely understand why we would bring him back. Id say he probably deserves to be back. Maybe im wrong feel like we could do better. If the glazers have the balls. I don't know who you replace him with but maybe someone can do something with this group. I'm a little less confident with our coaches on our offense who were huge for us this year btw are leaving and who do we replace them with?

This is why I posted that the Bucs are a little backed into a corner.
To sell TICKETS now you bring back Evans and Mayfield, tying the team to two BIG contracts and you still have all the others Wirfs, etc.
The problem is that those big contract are linked to a HC who is actually a little bit of a lame duck and so the most likely scenario on the OFFENSIVE COACHING SIDE is a patchwork/placeholder unit, like someone Mayfield wants or a rookie internal hire. That worked out great last year with Canales, but that is NOT the norm.
Its a potential recipe for disaster, especially if you add to that cap issues that keep us from acquiring/keeping good talent.
This is one reason you could at least imagine them firing Bowles with some big move in the wings, but the time to have done that wold have been BEFORE letting Canales leave so the 2024 season has already a little "bubble gum and paper clips" feel to it

They either need to do that now or they really need to make sure they hit on the replacements. Which I feel like is easier said than done for both really. I'm not sure there's a big name that helps with that. Bill B lol?. Problem is that we would still need to hire a whole new offensive staff but feel like he could probably entice someone better than Bowles can. The positive out of this is that they did have success with those two in Baker and Evans if they are able to bring them back. Feel like those two are also looking closely at what they do here however the bucs probably need them more than they need the bucs. Maybe not for Baker as much as i feel like he found a good home in Tampa but it's also a business and he could just take the money if it's better elsewhere. Bucs got some decisions to make.

Bill B's biggest problem is HIMSELF no? Same monster we EACH fight everyday. He needs to learn to let "other people DrIve," he's not simply content being the HC, HE Also wants to make all the managerial decisions personally and wear the HC, GM, and President hats. His ambition outweighs his capability significantly...I present evidence---==>Cleveland and SP (SP=Status post, its a medical easter egg, if yUr non medical, jUst Ignore It) TB12 years, TB12 CARRIED Bill B sooo hard, people were fooled and thought maybe it was Bill B who made TBrady and not the other way around. The truth is CURRENTLY on display, he's jobless, Raheem Morris got picked before Bill B, that HAS to be burning him, poor wittle tyrant. He's dealing with the fact that his fame is not of his doing, he invested a "flyer" pick-199th in 2000 draft- who put him Up on a pedestal. Sorry but Bill B has done even less than Bowles without Tom Brady. TB12 even Made Lefty Look good for 1 year. Thats like making the Browns look good for one year...but wait, theres more, didnt the Browns get to the Afc...///or rather, werent the Browns decent in 2021, or simply gUd Browns that year?
will be interesting to see what happens with Bill B. He has a record he might be chasing
Gilbert and Goodwin contracts were up. Good riddance to them. Lets not act like the OL has played that great. Hainsey is ass, Stinnie is ok depth. The interior of the line was awful. The run game has been terrible since Goodwin took it over.
I don't think Goodwin or Gilbert were that huge of a loss:
2023 TB Rushing: 32nd in the NFL @ 88.8 YPG
2024 TB Rushing: 4th in the NFL @ 149.2 YPG
2023 CAR rushing yds 20th @ 104.1/game
2024 CAR rushing yds 18th @ 110.5/game
Marginal improvement.
