I know some people want to cut Revis so bad...that's not going to happen until salary cap becomes a problem. We got draft picks invested in him.Lovie aint stupid. He'll figure out how to use Revis.
It's funny you said Tilman, I was hoping Hester.
Can we discuss this for a second? Do we know for a fact that Lovie ran the Cover 2 towards the end of his tenure in Chicago? After hearing so much about how Monte Kiffin runs the Tampa 2 in Dallas, when I watched a game where they didn't run a Cover 2 look the entire game, I want to establish these things as fact before labeling.

Yup.And I wouldn't want Revis gone anyway. The guy is still a dominant corner working on a rebuilt knee. And he lasted all 16 and made the Pro Bowl, on solid performance.Until the money becomes an issue, not sure what some people are thinking...or not thinking.
Maybe move David to Mike.
I don't know if messing with David's success at WILL is a good idea at this point.
There is no need to move LB David inside. The defense that Lovie will run is a 4-3 "in design" and have multiple personnel packages. I think that we will see LB David line up and follow behind 3 tech DT McCoy in our base package based on if the NT lines up inside or outside shade or even if Will LB David is technically lined up on the offenses closed or strong side. And that my friends would be a thing of beauty to finally have a front four put pressure on the QB, LB David behind DT McCoy rolling with his responsibilities, then having CB Revis locking down the number 2. Damn....I like that!!! Personally I would love if Raheem Morris came back to Tampa to coach DB's/assistant DC. Say what you want but he knows DB's in this style of 4-3.
wow that would be cool if Morris came back to coach the DBs.
As of now, Morris is still on the Washington coaching staff. Can't see him come back in that role if he still has a job. Hell, I couldn't see him coming back here in that role anyways, but especially not if it's a lateral move.
Oh my god well you IDIOTS quit crying about the zone. If you had ANY fucking clue outside of Tampa Bay Buccaneers football you would know that Lovie ran a variety of coverages cover 1, cover 2, and cover 3. We're not going to be playing zone all day every game. He's a wizard at disguising his defenses too. Just be patient and enjoy watching an elite defense next year.

Which is why I said 4-3 'in design".

My post wasn't toward you. It was just a rant because honestly I'm tired of seeing the zone question posts.

Lovie Smith’s hiring could end Revis experimentPosted by Mike Florio on January 1, 2014, 11:36 PM ESTWith new Bucs coach Lovie Smith presumably bringing the Tampa Two back to the place where it was born, one of the first orders of offseason business could be to send last year’s top offseason acquisition packing.Darrelle Revis, a man-to-man coverage specialist who reportedly didn’t like being used in zone coverage this past season, doesn’t fit the traditional duties of a cornerback in the Tampa Two. Given a contract that pays him $16 million per year with no guaranteed money or frills that would trigger a cap hit, the Bucs could walk away from Revis and save $16 million in both cash and cap space for 2014.There’s another reason to dump Revis sooner than later. The Buccaneers could avoid upgrading the final piece of the trade puzzle from a top-10 fourth-round pick in 2014 to a top-10 third-round pick.Based on the specific timing of the trigger for the upgraded pick, the Bucs may have to choose between dumping Revis and keeping the third-rounder or trying to trade his $16 million-per-year contract after the fourth-round pick increases by one round. While Smith and his eventual defensive coordinator may decide to make Smith’s preferred defense fit Revis, it could make more sense to cut the cord and devote the cash to a player like soon-to-be-free-agent Bears cornerback Peanut Tillman.
If the Bucs dump Revis, I will be pissed.
That's pure speculation from PFT. Makes no sense, especially the speculation about simply cutting him. There is no chance in hell that would happen.

Using cover 1, 2, and 3 as examples doesnt really help your case man... theyre all zones too
In CHI he played a lot of man under cover 2 and single high coverages. Sadly with our suck safeties he won't be doing any of the latter.
