Yep, Bruce Allen blocked Joe Barry from joining his father in law (Rod Marinelli) in Detroit, if I recall correctly.

If he retires they lose him anyway, so what would be the point?
Again, the point is that employees can't force their release by threatening to retire. If it works for Rod, what's to stop another coach from doing the same thing next year? I have no idea if the Cowboys will let him go or won't, but if they do let him go, I assume it's because he's not a part of their future plans, not because he might retire if they don't let him.
Several years ago my wife dressed up for Halloween as something like this Fright Night babe. I was dressed like the Fun House freak dude. We got drunk and passed out on the couch. When I woke up in the morning I was half out of it and she scared the shiit out of me.
