Having a franchise quarterback opens up your running game. See: Knowshon Moreno Really? Denver's rushing dropped off for the Manning years... Dropped off? From what? The ONE Tebow year? If that's the only one you're looking at, want to wager how much the passing increased? Uhh.. Passing isn't running. I'd say that having a QB who is a threat to run opens up the running game more than a "franchise" QB. Every category dropped off after 2011... unless you're trying too hard. BTW, Denver didn't have a "franchise" QB before Manning... since Elway.
