Great interview, very telling about his views. It's a long video, must watch.
It's about 22 minutes long.
Any nuggets for those of us unable to listen at work?
..........for later........
Guess this was already posted in another thread. Worth watching if you haven't seen it.
There was lot of insightful info throughout this interview but one in particular stood out. Florio asked him in hindsight, what would he have done differently with the Bears offense when he first became head coach to make that side of the ball more productive. (Remember, the team spent a 1st round pick on Grossman the year BEFORE Lovie was hired) Lovie said he would have focused more resources on the OL. He said you cant win without being solid on both sides of the ball. This makes me think even more our first pick will be an OL and this is also why getting Sparano to coach the OL would be such a critical hire for him
Umm....did anyone hear Lovie specifically mention Davin Joseph as a good player on our line? Not only is he the worst starting lineman we have, he's rated one of the worst in the NFL. I hope it was just speaking in generalities based on the fact that he has watched very very very little game film.

Yes, he mentioned Joseph and Penn but I think he keeps doing that because those are the two "names" and more familiar players on this team. I dont think he has studied them and I am thinking, he will lean on Tedford to do more of that on that side of the ball
A couple things I hadn't heard before:1. He believes in building a strong O'line and paying attention to KEEPING it strong. 2. He did intentionally take 2013 off to evaluate himself and what/how he could do better.

Davin Joseph blows.
DJ had a bad season coming off that injury for sure
I am not too worried about what he said about Penn and Joseph. Both have been Pro Bowl players and have a reputation. He hasn't had time to actually watch the tape. I think once he does that he will have a true idea of what we have.
