The only one that is unblockable is a promotion to HC. A lateral move generally is not allowed and a promotion to coordinator is up to the team the guy is contracted to.
That would really suck if they prevent him from coming here.

IF the staff comes in as projected it means the Glazers have been talking to Lovie since we were 0-8 and for me that makes this next season promising and one hell of a lot better than the last five.

Usually assistants are allowed to interview if they are interviewing for a better position but the Boys aren't required to allow it especially if they offer him the dc position.
If they let him out of his contract they might have to blow up their entire defensive staff which they don't seem to want to do. Definitely not a given. And the Cowboys have blocked coaches in the past.

no, in the NFL's eyes there are only two types of coaches, head coaches and assistant coaches. no matter what your title is, offensive coordinator, qb coach, db coach, etc .. you are just an assistant coach in the NFL's eyes so any hire, other than to be a head coach, can be blocked.i posted all the details of the hiring rules in a previous post but got reprimanded for letting facts get in the way of certain folks supposed knowledge of things.
