In Lovies last 3 years they were never top 10 in points per game (the only stat that matters). They were #2 this year. No thank you.
not to mention finishing 3rd or 4th in the nfc north 5 out of those 9 years. hoo rah, hes awesome, SMFH at the blind love for a guy who was a good lber coach for us.
Don't knock it, it worked out great when we hired out "hot" DB coach as the new HC, oh wait.
Two COMPLETELY different situations. Lovie already has experience as a NFL HC and has had success. Awful, awful comparison.
im concerned that Lovies comparison is equal to Dungy. a defensive minded coach who will put a good to great d on the field, but have a piss poor offense. Lovie having 5 out of 9 seasons in the 3rd or 4th place in the nfc north(when its the lions and vikings they should do better) isn't what i would consider successful. he stuck with grossman just like dungy stayed with dilfer. why settle for mediocrity, granted its better than the abysmal display of coaching schiano produced, but lets leave the past in the past and get an offensive minded coach.
Lovie comes, and our offense will sputter. It is his way. He is what he is.
lol, Lovie the OC?
Im all for Rod, but...Sporano? The guy that fist pumps after every Field Goal? :oNot sure if gusta...he was no good with the Jets either.

As OL coach, not OC. That I am fine with.
Offence....?
Offence....?
Lmao, I'm surprised it took this long.
Bruce Feldman ?@BFeldmanCBS 1mCan confirm report that Jeff Tedford is set to go with Lovie Smith as his OC on smith's next head coach job, per source
Why would Lovie allow that info to be leaked? Why would Tedford allow it to be leaked and possibly take him out of the running for other jobs if Lovie hasn't already been hired by someone?
Because Lovie's agent is selling that Lovie is the perfect pick. Just like the Kubiak report could be Kubiack's agent or even the Bucs pushing back . .lol Seriously though. all of the Lovie tweets scream Bucs and Glazers becaue the Glazers often go to the far extreme when they turn over coaches. Lovie's tweets scream NFL experience . . Rod Marinelli too . . and dont worry about his offensive track record because he's got Tedford"
Lovie sounding a lot like what Marty did lat year. Really wants a job. Not so sure he's aiming it at us though. And if he is it would be because we haven't shown interest so he trying to generate it
Lovie pushing hard - his new hand picked GM?Jason Cole ?@JasonPhilCole 1mAlso hearing that #NYG personnel man Marc Ross could end up with #Bucs if team hires Lovie Smith. Ross could be GM
Can he bring Justin Tuck with him?

could be he's aiming somewhere else, even using us as leverage . . . who knows
Yes, the offence that got him fired.
Lovie's offence was having a terrible offense.
The problem with a defensive coach is he's gonna wanna draft defensive players, or just plain doesn't 'read' rookie offensive guys well when drafting. We really need an offensive-minded head on the sideline to develop Glennon, as well as someone on draft day to get offensive talent on board. Tony Dungy was never involved with the Indianapolis offense. That was Tom Moore's gig, both before Dungy and during. Dungy was hired to build their D, and obviously did a solid job of it...
