Let me start by saying I am as disappointed in this year as any other fan. I hate losing, I hate getting excited every week to only have my hopes crushed every Sunday...it sucks! But at the end of the day I wanted to be objective. My feeling was that the defense was playing much better. So I researched the stats a little bit...and guess what...they are! Since the bye week, every game we have given up yds per game that would rank our defense top 5-7. Except for one game, the last game against detroit. In three of those games the opposing teams offense ranks 8-11-and 12 respectively. And they are doing this without an offense to keep our D off the field. So I am starting to think that the D is not outdated in today's NFL...more difficult to play, yes, but not outdated. A good pass rush (which has been improving especially with the addition of Smith) has helped tremendously. Now if we could get the offense moving we might really have something. We need o line help in the worst way. We will be fine everywhere else. I'd trade Jackson if I could. ASJ and Evans will be fine if not great. We are ok at RB, we need help at QB, but honestly even if we had a great O line I'd stick with Glennon until we could upgrade. With time, and a running game he could manage the game, and he has a big enough arm to keep defenses honest. Thoughts?
