Lansanah By Ira Kaufman | Tribune Staff Published: August 18, 2015 at 10:15 PM TAMPA — The Buccaneers haven’t given their fans much to cheer about recently at Raymond James Stadium.After dropping both exhibition games on their home field in 2014, Tampa Bay went 0-8 at home, leaving head coach Lovie Smith still looking for his first opportunity to reward supporters with a home victory.“The opening home game is important,’’ Smith said, referring to the upcoming preseason matchup against Cincinnati on Monday. “Our fans have been great out here and I assume we’re going to have a pretty good crowd Monday night. We need to eventually have a great homefield advantage. I know the guys can’t wait to play.’’Pro Bowl DT Gerald McCoy saluted Bucs fans for their unwavering support.“There’s no better feeling than running out on the field and you have the home crowd screaming for you,’’ McCoy said after Tuesday’s rain-shortened practice. “We’ve got some loyal fans.“The weather’s been terrible out here. You think when we go in and come back out again that they’ll be gone. We come back out and the stands are empty ... five minutes later, they’re back full again.
