Now and than NFL.com post articles where they highlight guys who are going to "take the next step" this season. Just wondering who you thought on our roster would be a great canidate to take the next step (whether it be elite or simply a solid contributor on offense or defense)1) Charles Sims:I really think this guy is going to turn into an elite 3rd down back this season. He's the most underrated guy on our roster (quietly collecting 1000 total yards from scrimmage this year). He's got GREAT hands (might have the best on the team), good speed, and good wiggle. The word "dancer" gets thrown a lot around with Sims a lot, and he's guilty of shuffling his feet around a little too much, but he did run with some nice power in the season also. His size and smoothness really reminds me of Arian Foster also. I think Koetter knows exactly what we have in Sims and I look for him to post a big season this year. 2) Cameron Brate/ASJI've post about ASJ before, I know most people are over him, but like it or not, Jameis shows a lot of trust with his 6'6 TE. He's driven us mad with bone head plays all of last season, but I think a healthy offseason will be great for him. Brate made plenty of nice plays for us last year, he's not an elite athlete, but he shows a good combination of smoothness and toughness. We lack playmakers in the passing game, so I think these guys will get more chances this off season.
