Before Mariota was benched he had a 7 TDs to 2 INTs.
Mariota has playoff experience and went 4 TDs to 1 INT in the playoffs.
My question to the board is if the Bucs goal is to save cap space and lean on the Bucs defense why isn't Mariota in the conversation?
If Arians can fix Winston's deep ball he can improve Mariota's mechanics as well. Mariota has the decision making, is 26 years old and has more upside than bringing back Gabbert.
The sticking point is leadership which Arians is looking for which Mariota has been questioned about. Could the very animated Arians coexist with a QB that is reserved like Mariota?
