He went from unknown to superstar in one season as he tossed 32 TDs and only 5 INTs as a senior in high school while running for 455 yards and 7 more scores.Mariota was seen by then Oregon OC and eventually offered a full scolly despite the fact that he had yet to start a high school varsity football game. He was later that summer clocked at 4.48 in the 40 as a senior in high school and claimed the prize of the camp's fastest player. I don't have time to list the awards he won as a senior in high school but there are many.Redshirted freshman year in college and we all know the rest.Interesting note:In Mariotas entire football career he has been credited with 1281 passing attempts. He's also been credited with just 17 INTs. For those who can't count that's 1.3% over his lifetime of playing football, LIFETIME!!!I have my concerns about the kid but I'm not longer being held captive to those concerns. The guy protects the ball like no other person in this draft class. That alone would have won us games this year. He can run which helps behind a poor line like we have and needs to learn to sit better in the pocket but has a NFL arm and can be seen making his progressions when he does stand in the pocket.Dude has been a baller since he put a helmet on. Trade Glennon or whatever, Mariota is now my man!
