So here's yet another challenge to PR to let go of your buddy's hand for a second and outline in a Scott Reynolds Fantastic Five article how Mark Dominick's bad drafts and free agent signings have set our franchise back for years. I for one won't be holding my breath for that write-up to come out. If you intend to try to keep your credibility, I dunno how PR hasn't done this already. Instead, PR went way out of its way to over praise Dominick and protect/defend him on his gaffes. Let's look at those gaffes, shall we?So Dom's "franchise QB," a former first-round pick, not only didn't pan out, he's not even in the freaking league anymore. Yet you never brought in any legit competition for this guy because you were so convinced that he was going to be so good. Wrong! Freeman was what he was in college; inaccurate and inconsistent. Combine that with whatever the hell happened to him away from the field and you get a big ass bust!Dom traded our 2013 first-round pick for Revis and handed a contract that no one else in the league would have paid nor would they trade for, so we had to release he and his ridiculous $16 million per year contract one year later. Both of our first-round picks from 2012, Mark Barron (Top 10) and Doug Martin, are reportedly being shopped around the league. Neither has proven to be worthy of the place we drafted them. Our 2011 first- and second-round picks, Adrian Clayborn and D'Quan Bowers, have really done a lot to solidify our pass rush and D-line, haven't they? Sigh. Both are busts. Two second-rounders from 2010, Brian Price and Arellious Benn, are out of the league, if I'm not mistaken. They certainly aren't doing anything for the Bucs these days. And not a single player from the 2009 draft for the Bucs still is on the team. And this isn't even counting the bad contracts Dom offered up for Mike Williams, Carl Nicks, Dashon Goldson, Eric Wright, and even Vincent Jackson (we traded Williams and are now trying to trade Goldson and Jackson). Five Mark Dominick-led drafts later and we still have holes at:QBOffensive LineDefensive Line (except Gerald McCoy - nice to see Dom got this one and L. David right)WRTESCBFor Pete's sake, we need a whole new team with the exception of a few good players we have (McCoy and David). So it any surprise that Lovie and Licht had to try to blow parts of this team up upon arriving? Not saying Lovie and Licht should get a pass because they absolutely do not deserve one, but let's be honest -- the damage done by Dominick here has had way more implications than the ones by Lovie and Licht so far this season. If I had my choice I'd fire the owners of this team, but that's not going to happen. But shoot, if some of you were willing to give the incompetent Dominick five freaking years to inflict the damage he did here, Lovie and Licht probably should be given at least one more year if not a few more. Then again, if we don't win more than 1 game this season then the Glazers may be forced to make yet another move at HC and GM.
