It's because Licht reaches on defense.

JTS, Braswell, Hall... All reaches.

Edge rushers are like QBs. Their value is inflated so they get taken higher than they should.

Coaching has to do with it too. Bucs coaching on offense is way better than the defense.

Bucs sunk so many resources on defense and they are going backwards.

Well said. Bowles not getting anything from Noah Spence isn’t Licht’s fault!

Excellent point. I think you’ve got him. Except Noah Spence was drafted under Dirk Koetter and never played a game under Todd Bowles.

Hall we traded back and reached.

And passed on George Karlaftis, a guy I liked. He was top prospect going into his draft class, but didn't have a great year and dropped a little. He would have been a great addition at the end of R1, but they traded back and Kansas City reaped the benefits. He's had 24.5 sacks in three seasons, and another 4 sacks in 7 playoff games.

Make that 7 sacks in 8 playoff games for Karlaftis.

It stings and it's even worse because Logan Hall is at best a rotational player
