I got this idear while "perusing" JBF. Interesting article regarding our CB/Secondary challenge. Solid points, well thought out, worth the read...and validation that JBF is more than just "color-commentary." Anywho. I like CD3, Id use him as below, and I REALLY like the potential of McCollum AND Izen. I also think the GUTS of our Defense is the first place we need to focus in the draft. We need to Fill the HOLE in our gut that Devin White was tasked to protect....he sucked. Sorry for the "severity/Bluntness" We gotta get a Real One. Another Real One Troy P from Pittsburgh...One of the forgotten "Gut-of-the-Defense" GOATS....the rest is self explanitory. Anything I missed or overlooked? Any cooler Idears to conjecture???
The Concepts...
I See: AW3! at SS and McCollum and FS is just NASTY in theory craft. But then that leaves us 2 corners. Keep Davis OVER Dean. Sorry Dean...Most important ability is availability- Had you only not gotten hurt vs the Lions...I get it not your fault, but injuries "stalk" U for an unknown reason. Safeties check. CD3 CB one. Follows #1 WR and Plays MAN!!! Izen Slot, but who Wings the CB2 spot? Draft Gem...Licht has a list im sure. The LB's need work. We need LBrs who are like regular LBr's...He need a Middle Linebacker...someone like Brian Urlacher or Luke Keuchly- someone who can cover all the grass and Rush and just has an Xfactor. He can even Line up at the LOS and RUSH to mis it up in blitz. That would be my First round draft selection this year...HAS TO BE A HOME RUN JL!!! Second, would be a small school OT that Licht sees a Gaurd IN, why fix what aint broke am'i'rite??? 3rd...CB2- draft best cover CB available with your third pick...even move up a few spots to nab it if needed. The rest QUALITY Depth and Fill out the rest of the roster. EZ

You only net about $6.7m of cap space, but it’s more significant than a part-time player, especially if you can add a competent replacement in the draft, or a FA. The position definitely needs some attention.Keep Davis OVER Dean
You can’t.
Davis is the only one we could cut bait with this year.

Neither him or Dean can stay on the field.
They're both made of glass and their production doesn't warrant either of their contracts.
I'm really thinking, barring a trade back or them reaching on an iOL, we see CB with our 1st pick.
Unless the ‘reach’ is for JPJ, I completely agree. Fits with the talent & range of the pick - and TB’s preference for a CB that could be used as a part of the pressure-package and coverage requirements. The Bucs are always on the lookout for cornerbacks in every draft. They've drafted 8 in the last 8 drafts - an average of one per draft. But just keep in mind the highest drafted CBs by Licht Hargreaves (1.7), Stewart (2.21) and Murphy Bunting (2.7) have not worked out that well. Davis (2.31), Dean (3.31) and McCollum (5.14) have fared better. Could Licht be a little gun shy about pulling the trigger on a high pick for CB? I think he might continue to use a midround pick to beef up the CB position and spend the higher picks on other needs.
Yeah pick 1 the LB or pick 3 the CB3 are interchangeable depending on value and talent…maybe a blue chip prospect slips. Round 2 to interior oline because….well in one word. ALI’MARPET!’!
and spend the higher picks on other needs.
He 100% could end up doing that.
But, value is value.
