The Bucs are right where they should be .500 mid tier because that's their talent level
For some reasons, TWO seasons of struggle now with two different offensive coaches and two different QBs has NOT convinced some fans that this isn't a very talented team.

As to the comparisons to Brady in his last year. The issue is....that wasn't Brady. That was a "fuk it" year for a ton of reasons. He retired, then unretired, was he gonna go to Miami and play with Payton, then got divorced, he got left for like a fitness coach or something, just imagine his mental- BRADYS mental of all people. There was all the drama about him getting BA to step down. Brady's fire just wasn't in it, and that's his supapowa.
As to Baker. Ill say this again clearly. He has everything I would want in a QB aside from height and arm talent. The question is, can he develop that arm talent. Can he improve his attacks and exploit all areas of the field. Can he throw a much more accurate ball on time. Can he develop that natural understanding or intuition regarding how the defense is planning on getting at him and wisely pass it to the best option exploiting the defense. Can he take some risks every now and again and hit some homeruns to keep defenses scared of how much grass they have to cover. If he can do that, then being a Bucs fan will be a helluva ride for the next several years. Im rooting for you buddy!
Also I saw something about Wirfs and Evans as future HOF'rs. I didnt bother to read any further to understand the context butttt.... My first thought was dont forget Winfield. There is some talent on this current Bucs team, but a huge drop off from the SB team roster. The scorers of every single point during the SB are no longer on the team.
Players like Brady, Gronk, ABCrazy, Marpet, Cappa, Fournette, JPP, Suh, Whitehead replaced by the likes of Mayfield, Otton, Palmer, etc.
I agree with posters who feel this current team is no better than .500 level. Their record is an accurate assessment of who they are.

If you look at this Bucs team and you say to yourself that they are a legit playoff/super bowl team BUT FOR MAYFIELD holding them back then you know NOTHING about football.

If we were in almost any other division we would be knocked out already or on life support. That doesn't excuse Mayfield's poor play. And about the tackle play that you scoffed at, we all thought Goedeke was going to suck at RT and he's actually been a big plus. Mayfield is leaving points on the field, he just is. This poor play is being masked by low INTs and Evans making huge plays. He can't get through progressions quick enough and he can't find throwing lines from in the pocket. That shows up in the box scores as punts.
