I am never a fan of running your yap when the offensive side of the ball was as dysfunctional at times as this one was this past season. Once he torched the Falcons and Stef, then the gloves could come off but for now, be focused on righting the wrongs from this past season.

He's 2-4 vs. Atlanta in Tampa Bay, and that was against Arthur Smith & Raheem Morris. Stefanski is a far better HC (2x COTY) than both of those guys. Hopefully he will be better, but he may want to chill out on the shit talking until it happens.

Baker seems like a guy who needs a slight to hit top motivation so I don't mind it. Definitely easier (and maybe smarter) to trash talk after a win but at this point the "season is lost" anyway so why not go out guns blazing!
my perception of him changed when we needed to literally secure 2 wins in the remaining 5 games (NO, ATL, CAR X, MIA) and we only mustered up the final week heavily supported by favorable calls our way, a 2 point victory.
If he couldn't get "motivated" for that, the guy is a loser.

defense collapse certainly key to Bucs downfall but that INT and bakers basically 8 tds to 6 INTs in the easy 6 game stretch was disappointing at best
Its fair criticism of Baker. He threw picks to close out too many games last season. Personally, it’s between a bad playcaller and an injured QB - but the facts are real. Too much of our early victories were 3rd & 4th down hero conversions by Mayfield. I don’t like excusing losses because of injuries, Chargers had some similar o-line injuries, but kept winning. I do think that the lack of playcalling prowess likely exposed Baker to contact that limited his abilities later in the season. However, the point is valid - refusing to acknowledge Baker’s suckage in those last 6 to 7 games - excuses too much. We all saw him exhibit bad habits in those games.
He’s going to have to prove to us he can overcome it. I think the organization has given him all the tools to do this, hired a coach that runs an offense that compliments his ability - but it’s no longer a given. Hope that’s a big enough chip on Baker’s shoulder. We all want him to knock it off.
Until he does, I’m not buying into any hype.
