I don't follow much college football, but during the offseason I hear about different players projected to us and the general concepts of how such and such player can help us out combined with the value of the pick. Which brings me to McCaffery, I was hoping that some of my redboard friends would give me a critique of him. So far the positive concepts I have read associated with him are: fast, great pass catcher, nose for the endzone, big play ability, doesn't fumble the ball, do-it-all type player.
On the flip side the negative concepts are: small, light, white, maybe not an every down back.
After thinking about all those concepts, the first player that comes to my mind is Marshall Faulk. Since I don't watch college football, maybe some of you guys could compare their games. I remember how 15 years ago, there was simply no more dangerous a player than Marshal Faulk, he was a guy that you simply wanted to have the ball as much as possible. He could coud run, he could catch...the guy could do it all, and most importantly, the guy had a nose for getting into the endzone. As great as Kurt Warner, Issac Bruce, and Torey Holt were back in those days...it was Faulk that made that team deadly.
If McCaffery's game is anything like the do-it-all game breaker that Faulk was, sign me up.
