We're not drafting a QB...........we need OL help and we need it bad...
McCown is a product of Trestman. Trestman = the QB Whisperer. Not a knock on McCown, and he should probably stay in Chicago. I don't want him here. He's not a short term, or long term answer
Tedford is a QB whisperer also , so what's the problem ?
I honestly have a hard time seeing us not draft a QB this year. The only question would be what round. IF we bring in McCown, it really should be as a backup. If we are starting him, we are really doing it wrong.
now thats he golden question the new coaching staff and GM must answer,: can Glennon beat out someone like McCown? If the answer is no or In serious doubt then there really is only one option for this team. Draft a QB early.
The question shouldn't be whether Glennon can "beat out" McCown. There is no point in rolling with McCown at all, except as a backup. I would expect a guy like McCown who has years of experience in more than one system to probably look better in practice on a new team than a guy who spent his rookie year in a retarded system and is now learning a new one in just his second season. Glennon has a future though, McCown doesn't. If you want a replacement for Glennon, then you draft him. But otherwise he is your starter.
i pretty much agree with you but at the same time I think it would be crazy just to hand him the job.
Glennon needs a veteran backup who is dependable.McCown is better than Orlovsky.Question answered.
if all you are looking for is a vet backup who is dependable and will help Glennon out and know and accept his role then there is nothing wrong with Dan O. That's what he is.
Meh, I'd just like to trade up and get a good rookie in the draft. Its the only way we gonna ever get a franchise QB. The sooner the better. Glennon isn't the answer and neither is a journeyman. The DRAFT is the answer IMO.
