That type of move is completely on the coaching staff. If you have a guy you could resign for cheap, it's up to the coaches if they feel he fits.
The question from the OP has many convoluted answers. The leg-humpers said because the Buccaneers FO are professionals and know what's best. The simpletons said Bennett was never all that good to begin with and that his production was easily replaceable. PR reported that their sources said the coaching staff didn't feel Bennett was big enough for Schiano's defense, whatever that means.Bottom line is most of the fans could see the team needed another pass rusher, while there were a handful of posters that were very loud about the Bucs not needed Bennett. Those people have obviously eaten it big-time, whether they would like to admit it or not.
