the player wanted more money than the Bucs were willing to pay so he went to Seattle on a 1 yr prove it deal and is about to get PAID!!!
For a lousy 1 year deal no less! And some still wonder why Dom is gone.
That type of move is completely on the coaching staff. If you have a guy you could resign for cheap, it's up to the coaches if they feel he fits.
Bennett was not gonna sign a 1 yr cheap deal here
People fail to realize this.
"People fail to realize this."Maybe if you went over it with them again for the two hundred and thirty seventh time? Nah, screw it, not worth the effort. Let 'em continue to be ignorant.

I suppose the Bucs should have been willing to pay $5M for a productive pass rusher. Hopefully the organization makes better personnel decisions under Lovie Smith.
^^ If I'm wrong I hope he doesn't haha.
You're wrong.....and Bennett wasn't gonna sign the contract that he signed in Seattle here.
You're just being mean cause you have zero votes for best thread.

Didn't give the Bucs the chance to match. Move on.

Did Michael Clayton have to give the Bucs the chance to match? No? How about Davin Joseph? Jeremy Trueblood? Quincy Black? The Buccaneers signed the guys they wanted to re-sign.This isn't kindergarten. The Buccaneers chose not to make Bennett an offer. The notion that the onus is on Bennett to give the Bucs the chance to match an offer from another team is absurd. If the Bucs wanted him, they would have at least made the same offer the Seahawks did - before Bennett left town.

Shouldn't have had to match it. Sign your best pass rusher when you have the chance
But in all fairness, there were plenty of good personnel moves over the past 2 years. More good than bad under Schiano. And not every person who was allowed to walk was because they weren't "toeing the line". I know it is much more dramatic and cool to ignore these facts.
Stupid decision to let him walk
Stupid decision to let him walk
^All it really boils down to
The funniest part about the whole Bennett saga is that their are still fans that swear he isn't really that good and won't admit it was stupid to let him walk....simply because that would admitting they were wrong when they swore we were better off with DTN and Bowers.
32 teams passed on signing him long term. 32 TEAMS!!!!!!!You guys overrate him more than Seahawk fans. Geez.
Haha....DTN....what a joke
32 teams passed on signing him long term. 32 TEAMS!!!!!!!
he only led one team in sacks in 2012
