Only thing you are ignoring is that Bennett had proven himself and deserved a nice contract last year and it was obvious to just about everyone but you.

And 32 NFL teams. A fact you conveniently forget. You've posted some absolute gems but this one is the most epic fail of the bunch. If Bennett had proven himself, some team would've signed him to more than a 1 yr prove-it deal. Disagree?
Message board GMs always have the right answer after the fact.
WTF are you talking about? The same people you are arguing with now told you last offseason that it was a mistake to let Bennett go, while you were arguing it wasn't.Time for you to eat it and admit you were wrong instead of wallowing in fail.
Biggs, anyone who knows anything about this poster, knows that "wallowing in fail" is about the only thing he does well.
So help me understand why Bennett wasn't signed long term by any other team out there, including the Seahawks. Are you telling me that you know more than every scout, coach and GM in the NFL? You expect us to believe that you had it right all along? Garbage, as usual.
If you want to see garbage, then I can just bump the thread in which I pulled up dozens of post of yours where you did nothing but b*tch, moan, and complain about others opinions. I see that nothing has changed.#parforthecourse.

I have no idea why Bennett signed so quickly with Seattle, but Free Agency started on March 12th and he signed with the Hawks on the 14th. He was supposedly waiting on the Bucs and when they didn't make him an offer at all he moved on. You make it sound like he just sat there on the market forever and nobody wanted him....when it was actually just over 48hrs. Also, if you can remember back one year, last year's FA was a strange one. Lot's of top free agents were not signing right away and when they did there were a lot of one and two year deals happening. The Dolphins are the only team that went crazy and made big moves right away.....and the Bucs with Goldson.Epic fail huh? Maybe you just have selective memory.

Pull em. Doesn't change the fact that Bucs did the same thing every other team did and then Bennett didn't allow them to match a one year deal when he said he would. He chose to leave. Blame whatever or whomever you want. Won't change that fact.

Don't forget the FA grace period for signing that year. He was shopping himself to teams for more than just two days.

He chose to move on when he didn't receive a long term offer from any team including the Bucs. Then, he didn't allow them to match. So, explain to me how he slipped through our fingers. No long term contract offer from any other team means the Bucs would've paid over market had they signed him long term at the time. This is something that people have repeatedly complained about with Dom. This time though, he should've overpaid? Dude, if you have a crystal ball, for love of the team, please send it over to OBP.
Was he? Where is the link? I remember him talking about how his chances of resigning with the Bucs was like 90%.....then each day that % would go down, until finally he said the chances of staying with the Bucs was only 30%....then signed with the Hawks the next day. I don't remember him trying to pimp himself to other teams. I remember him thinking he was staying in Tampa and then not getting an offer and being shocked and disappointed.
I don't think anyone disputes the fact that they would love to have Bennett on the team for a measly 5 million. However, he chose not let the Bucs match. That's his decision, not the Bucs.

Dear God, I can't believe anyone with a brain still tosses around the "Bennett didn't let the Bucs match" B/S. I wonder if there are equally stupid New England fans whining that Wes Welker didn't let the Patriots match Denver's offer.

Here's a quote saying he'd allow them to match: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/11/michael-bennett-says-hell-give-bucs-chance-to-match-offers/ Here's a quote from a few days later: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/15/bennett-didnt-give-bucs-option-to-match-seattle-offer/
Why post the link to this Hayseed? You think this proves you right? Seriously?"They acted like they didn’t want me, so no, I didn’t go back to them," Bennett said."I just didn’t feel any love from them at all," Bennett said. "And that’s kind of disappointing, because for a team that you put everything you had into for four years to do that, you’re just kind of, ‘OK, whatever.’"You do everything you can to grow as a player and get better as a player and you prove yourself over and over again for them, but I guess that’s just who they are."

I asked for a link that showed he was pimping himself to other teams and you post a link to a quote that just shows he was waiting around for the Bucs and caught completely off guard by their complete lack of interest. You are helping me prove my point. Thanks....and goodnight. Gonna go watch this game.
