he is coming off a major injury lets see what happens next year to make any judgements., he is not fully healed. look at rg3....dude cant barely even throw right and is not the same as he was last yr. not everyone comes back right away. he will work hard this offseason and he will get back to himself again. i know he is too competitive to let this get him down
Revis did not have a very good game. He definitely did not come close to earning $1 million. He hasn't been a $16 million dollar man all year. We totally overpaid for him.
especially since we had to cut 3 or 4 players to get under the cap .. . . . .oh .. . yeah . . . nevermind. The billionaire onwers of the Bucs and ManU appreciate your sending them investment advice . . . . . from the library computer?
That isn't my point. Why overpay someone? What does cap room have to do with overpaying someone? That doesn't sound like good business sense to me. I simply stated he hasn't come close to earning his $16 million here. If you disagree, feel free to bring your side. I'm sorry but "well we can afford it" isn't an answer. Also, the Glazers suck at picking coaches and/or GMs. They really do. They may have billions but they can't pick a coach to save a franchise.
Somehow I knew you would turn this from a Revis/Crabtree discussion to the Glazers. No, youre not fixiated at all.
Come on, read the thread. I didn't bring them up. I was responding to Vin who posted about them. At least TRY to get the story right.
Oh but I did. He made a sarcastic comment about ownership...targeted at you BTW, and of course you saw an opening and ran with it. Again. Broken. Effin. Record.MiltonMack and the Java Sockpuppets provide more meaningful insight than you could ever muster.
What incredible irony. Again. Broken. Effin. Record. Deal with it or stop responding to me. I don't care either way. The franchise is in bad shape. You remind me of the Gator sunshine pumpers that want to make believe that everything is alright. It is only football and a game. That's it. I still wear my Buc gear all the time. You don't dictate to me my view of the current state of the Bucs. You act like we're 10-4 and fighting for our playoff life. We've sucked for a long time. My patience is GONE. It is time to grumble. It is a bad product. Sorry I won't go away quietly.

I don't care how god he is next year. He can come back not only as good as ever, but better than ever and he still isn't worth what we paid for him. No one CB is worth that. The game has changed.
Crabtree will potentially be a free agent after next season. I hope our new GM makes a play for him.

He is a player that makes a difference. The Niners were sleep walking, then he comes back, and they are starting to really pick it up. He is a good player, and has been in the league 3-4 years, so he has earned the right to talk smack. IMO
We are trading Revis to Houston ??
Haha! I literally laughed outloud!

There is a synergistic effect in losing a good player or gaining one. It's why I think people seem to underestimate the loss of MWill. It's not just the individual player and his production, it's the impact he makes on defensive game plans and play.

Agreed. Revis has gotten lucky this year could be a lot uglier. Mike Wallace had him burned for an 80-yard touchdown but Tannehill overthrew him. Calvin Johnson had him beat for a completion but Stafford missed the throw. That easily could have gone for six. Don't get me wrong, Revis is still a damn good corner, but he isn't the player he was. The old Revis never would have gotten burned by Ted Ginn for a touchdown. Richard Sherman and Joe Haden have had much better years. Considering Revis is approaching 30 the expectations need to be realistic with him.
Actually...."old" Revis did get burnt by Ted Ginn..who is still one of the fastest players in the league. Secondly...ALL Corners get beat at some point in time. Stop the nonsense

Meanwhile, Eric Wright made the game saving INT against SEA last week for the 9ers.Seriously, if we cut or trade Revis we would only have to give up a 4th round pick instead of a 3rd round pick to the Jets. This was such a desperate move by Dominik. I bet Schiano told him that if he had Revis his schemes would work. Zing! If not for the fact that not one single coveted free agent CB even visited the Bucs this off season I bet Dominik wouldn't have done it. Sean Smith is a stud. Keenan Lewis is balling. Way better than Revis at a fraction of the cap hit.
The "still under the cap"argument is ridiculous. We have no idea what the glazers personal cap was for one thing, it's not just a salary for this year, so it will impact us later if he doesn't restructure later, it's money that could have been spent elsewhere to better effect and the big problem with the Revision deal isn't just the money, it's the picks we lost for the privilege of overpaying for one extra year of a guy who was going to be a FA next year anyway
+1, 000, 000.
The same ones who defend paying Revis $16 million will then turn around and tell me that we can't build depth anywhere. Wonder why geniuses? This is why NYJ got rid of him. Yeah we're $7 million under the cap and we don't have a franchise QB and need to upgrade several positions. It's like some people can't project into the future and see this becoming a huge problem?
HAHAHAHAHA EAT CRABTREE!!!!!!
Sherman is the best in the game.We still overpaid.
I don't think some people here watch much football. Just to educate some of you "fans" out there, Seattle runs Cover 3 the majority of the time with press by their corners. This requires their corners to be physical and very good at the line and have good recovery speed. Sherman only plays man on go routes or vs the comeback if there is no vertical threat by #2. Sherman is a baller without a doubt but he is not a shut down corner. He only plays on one side of the defense. He doesn't play crossing routes or anything like that. Revis can lock down any route anywhere on the field. Revis and Sherman do different things and Revis is clearly more versatile but Sherman is the best at what he does and clearly a massive part of an amazing defense. I'll say this though. If Browner was still around and he was the one who talked all the time and Sherman was quiet, would anyone know who Sherman is?
bucs: Do you think Revis was 100% this year? We paid him 100% even though he wasn't. That is a poor investment.
