"I just wish you guys would see me as Michael Sam, the football player rather than Michael Sam, the gay football player."bull****! It was his own choice to come out publicly. Now he wants to act as if he never said it. Everyone at Missouri knew he was gay for over a year at the least. Some longer. No one came out and told because in reality who the hell is Michael Sam? a fringe 3rd-5th round prospect? If this were Jadaveon Clowney, then there's worry that someone might tell. But no one cared who Michael Sam was before he came out. No one was going to tell. He's trying to milk the hell out of this for headlines.

At that time he was Michael Sam the defensive player of the year. He said what he wants, not what he expects, that is the reason why he came out. So that future players don't have to hide who they are. He should be seen as Michael Sam the football player, but since he was the first, he will now forever be seen as Michael Sam the first openly gay football player.

He's the co-Defensive Player of the Year for the SEC and singlehandedly won the Cotton Bowl for Mizzou. He's not a fringe prospect, gay or straight.
College accolades mean nada. He's not a great prospect. He's a guy who looks more like a borderline starter/backup player.

Haha.. I was thinking the same thing..when I 1st saw the sit down interview. I was like.."Man the kid,looks so much like Josh.. and the way he sounds..If you close your eyes..He sounds like Josh Freeman a little.But to be honest I do think Sam,gonna be a good player..and you can tell the kid has a good head on his shoulders
