Who knows what will come of this, if anything...but some of you are being ridiculous. Mike is an exceptional talent that slid to the 4th because of his character issues. He has produced very well for us, but he still has character concerns that make it hard to depend on him long term...and so he was rewarded with a contract that paid all his guaranteed money up front and made it easy to dump him if he screws up. So far mike has been paid $10.6M over his first four years. That is an average of $2.6M per year....which is a tremendous value because other than last year when he was hurt, he has had big time production. Waaaay more than is expected from a 4th round pick. So the truth is, Mark Dominic plucked an absolute gem in the 4th round and got him for $2.6M/yr for his first four years. His 5th year....2014....pays him $1.8M. If he screws up or shows that he is not going to change his character, he can be cut with very little cap repercussions. Even if he does shape up and play great and we keep him, his average salary over the final three years of his contract barely has him in the top 20 highest paid WRs. Sounds like Mark did a great fcking job. Some of you like to hate on Dom when you really have no clue wtf you are talking about.
I'm not a Dominik fan at all but what the Bucs have gotten out of Williams has exceeded expectations if he was cut tomorrow.
The guy missed on an ENTIRE draft class. There is really no argument here.
None of us knew of all these off the field issues at the time, Hayseed. Our Ex GM just admitted to SR he did. Hes a moron for extending him at all.
They have to speak to the media. League rules, even whats his name Skittles had to face the media in NYC yesterday. He didn't look too comfortable to say the least. Talib tried that after the Pats loss, and the Pats media guy explained to him he had to speak to the media, or get fined. So he changed his mind.
This stuff is probably true. Obviously the stuff he posts on social media is true...That said what he posts is his business. Fans kill me thinking they are entitled to have some say in what players can and can't post. Why does it matter to you?

nobody care about what he posts (or they shouldn't), but fans understandably care if he is Clayton, Part II

Those concerns are legitimate. I have those same concerns. I see 2 good seasons, 2 bad seasons from him. So we don't really know what we have. But as far as his posting it's his prerogative.

yeah I agree BUT1. he has no right to complain because his voluntary posts drive his image and2. for a guy who posts a lot and who even posted about this story, he did not deny the fines or really any of the substance of the report

He is not in Clayton territory yet, he doesn't own a mink coat.

lol, good pointactually met Clayton. he didnt have the coat but he did have a huge SB ring on ... and he was incredibly gracious. I was expecting different, he seemed like a stand up guy

Clayton is a funny guy. I hung out with him a few times back in my college days, one of my friends was close to him and his girlfriend at the time, now his wife.
Just reading between the lines here. I think the guy kind of tuned out when Schiano was here but has now been been re-committed since the hiring of Lovie Smith. Many of you have hypothesized as much already.

You're probably right. The issue here is the same thing was said in Raheem Morris' last season, 2011. There's clearly a pattern here.
Well, MW19 had a pretty impressive season during Schiano's first year. Hopefully Lovie can get more than one year out of him. If not, he is toast after 2014.
My only question is, why wasn't this reported while it was happening?
You're kidding? A guy on IR is supposedly missing rehab and you expect writers to be privy to this info? Are they supposed to report every missed meeting as well....and that's assuming they would know about it? Can you imagine that locker room?
I can, it's called the New York Jets.

when he was playing for the contract, right?
