Tampa Bay Fan Logic rule #25"Any player drafted by our own team that earns his second contract is overpaid."
You seem to struggle with the concept of a player earning a new contract but getting one that is too large for the production he's had.The guy is paid like an average #1 wideout but produces like an average #2.Dom never met a FA he didn't want to over pay, his backers big point of praise for him is he knew contacts and he sucked at those.Thank god he's been shown the door or we' be offering the Kraken $20 million a year to add to a top heavy roster rather than building a complete team.
Dom sucked asz as a GM and regularly overpaid players.Mike is appropriately recompensed for his abilities, but perhaps not for our team's situation. He is a guy with #1 potential but can't seem to reach it. He is, unfortunately, not paired properly with VJax.

Which average #1 on his second contract is he paid like?

Go look at the deals of Steve Smith, Stevie Johnson, Marques Colston, Reggie Wayne he's paid better than them.

WOW, firstly Mike isn't as good as any of them, even Johnson is an actual 1000 yard wideout (something Williams is incorrectly hyped as) with garbage at QB.Secondly even when 2 of those guys are old they are still producing better than Mike ever did in his best season.Thirdly, Colston got paid a fair deal in line with being an average #1 guy like the others mentionedit only looks like a hometown discount next to the messed up contract our dumb ex GM drew up for a #2.Basically you've got a bunch of excuses, like every player other than Mike has a "reason" they are paid that much & Mike is the only one getting true value, there's a huge reason Mike's paid so much, Dom couldn't put a good value on a player if he tried, just about every contract (I wanted to say every contract but I'm sure he managed to get lucky & do one decent one during the 5 years he was in charge) he drew up over paid the player.

You make excuses for Johnson, like him playing with trash, as if Mike Williams has been putting up his numbers with Peyton Manning as his QB.

This isn't Mike Williams' hometown and he didn't give us any kind of discount, so I'm struggling to identify which "Mike, hometown discount" you are referring to.

Colston gave New Orleans the discount.
Or did Colston recognize that his stats were a product playing with one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game and not his ability or worth as an NFL WR?

See what you read as an excuse was actually me preempting the excuse of Mike having bad QBs and that being why he's such a stud but hasn't been able to show it, much like with Freeman it's everybody else's fault that he's very average at best.I was just getting it out of the way
