Someone suggested this before, but what are the chances that Free was forced on Frasier and Frasier played him early so he could move on hoping to close strong rather than struggle along with Free?

Same ole' Josh... No doubt about it, Minnesota's grisly quarterback situation directly contributed to Monday's firing of former Vikings coach Leslie Frazier. The combination of Christian Ponder, Matt Cassel and Josh Freeman led to just five wins this season, but it was the expensive signing of Freeman that stood out as the team's largest blunder. He didn't look ready for prime time in his lone start against the New York Giants in October, and never saw the field again."You could tell Josh did not know the offense," one anonymous Vikings player told USA Today of the week leading up to that New York tilt. "Practices did not really go that well that week. But coach Frazier was in the team meetings like, 'Oh, I think this is the best week of practice we've had all year.' And everyone's like, 'What? What are you talking about?'" Four people with knowledge of the situation told the newspaper that Freeman was habitually late for meetings, while one player said the quarterback often was among the last players in the building. Players also told USA Today that starting Freeman against the Giants came across as an act of desperation by Frazier and a team hoping to justify the $3 million contract they handed the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter."Debacle," another player said of the team's quarterback situation. "When they started Josh in that Giants game, we were as confused as anybody."Problems under center marked the entirety of Frazier's run with the team. The post-Brett Favre signing of Donovan McNabb was a disaster and loyalty to Ponder, underwhelming from the start, held back an offense that has relied almost entirely on running back Adrian Peterson.Armed with the eighth pick in the draft, Minnesota's next coach is a likely candidate to start over at the position, hoping to find a young passer who can make the most of wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson and bring more balance to this offense. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000307863/article/minnesota-vikings-players-rip-josh-freemans-behavior

Did you actually read the article you posted?

Sure did. Even used the bold function. What's your point?

Poor writing on that bolded sentence. Should have been "one of the last into the building" not "last in the building".

Anybody that thinks any of these guys ( that are taking Adderall or any drug like that)  are taking it for real medical problems is being naïve.  These are very powerful drugs....amphetamines.  These aren't a beer or joint.  He was over sleeping because he was tweeked out on amphetamines.  These guys are what they call " drug addicts ".  Just because you have a script for oxycodone doesn't mean you are or aren't an addict but when you start showing conduct that is in line with the same behavior as someone abusing drugs then that raises eyebrows.  I'm not a gambling man but if I was I would bet the house that Free is taking more pills than prescribed...just saying.  Where there is smoke there is fire! Especially if your name is Tanard Jackson.

Ah yes, I see the issue. Poor writing indeed. Pretty sure we get the gist of it.

Poor writing on that bolded sentence. Should have been "one of the last into the building" not "last in the building".

You should have included the word among --> "among the last players in the building."  It is not incorrect...  In actuality, your new sentence doesnt make sense if you leave among in that sentence.  LOL.

I'm not sticking up for Free in any way, but this article is just rehashing old news from the week he was announced to start in NY. There's no new info here, and it's more about the players being upset with the HC starting a guy who doesn't know the offense than a bunch of players coming out and saying there were problems with Free, as the thread title suggests. We have no idea what he was doing when he was "late" for the meetings. He could have been working with a trainer or a QB coach.

I think it's time for Donald Penn frees boy or someone to sit him down do an intervention with him or something.he is definitely having some issues going on with him. The dudes going to throw his career away at 25 years old if he hasn't already. I would be incredibly surprised if hes on a team come 2014. Hell maybe josh just doesn't like football at all.
