That's a reasonable trade back for the Bucs- I like it. The Bucs move down four spots and upgrade a 5th to a 3rd. Stewart doesn't have the sack production so I'm not sure about the pick.NFL.com with the trade back to 23
PROJECTED TRADE WITH GREEN BAY PACKERS
The Buccaneers could use Stewart as a 5-technique because of his size and strength at the point of attack, potentially setting him up to replace Logan Hall if the veteran departs as a free agent in 2026. Stewart will also stand up at times because of his athleticism, making him a great fit in Tampa Bay's scheme
But looking at the trade down. If you presume these factors....
1) Licht has never moved down more than six spots in the first round because he wants to know who's going to be there.
2) Pit and Min are already short on draft picks and won't want to pay the price to move up.
3) Moving down one spot with Denver won't pick up enough juice to move up into Day 2 on the back end. You could swap out a 5th for a 4th at best.
So with those parameters the logical trade down partners are LAC, GB and HOU.
In this trade down scenario we follow up with Revel CB in 2nd, Sigle S in the 3rd and Knight Jr LB in the 4th
SI gameday has us
Rd1: LB (Walker)
Rd2: CB (Morrisson)
Rd3: WR (Wiliams)
Rd4: CB (Williams)
The Hairston rumors are starting to pick up for us at #19.
Pretty cool to see
"When the 2025 NFL Draft comes around on Thursday, he'll try to add even more draft hits to his resume. And per a new artcile from the Athletic detailing the best drafting teams of the last five years, historical precedent says he'll probably be successful."
The Buccaneers are fourth in the league on the Athletic's list, which uses Pro Football Reference's Approximate Value stat to grade all 32 teams in the last five years. Tampa Bay came out with an AV grade of 8.94, barely below the Baltimore Ravens' 8.95.
Here's what writer Nick Baumgardner had to say about Jason Licht and the Bucs' ability to draft:
"Wirfs is only 26 and has already become the first player in NFL history to earn first-team All-Pro honors at both right and left tackle. Tampa Bay also snagged Antoine Winfield Jr. in 2020 and has continued to grind the middle rounds as well as any team in the league (Cade Otton, Bucky Irving, Cody Mauch)."
Not to mention McCollum and Dennis. We're getting spoiled with the success of those middle round successes lately, and I can't help but think there will be some picks that won't work out. There will be more Jaelen Dardens, but there haven't been many in recent years. Hopefully this will be another good year for the middle rounds.Pretty cool to see

@donkey_hunter - I hope that’s not the pick. He’s my 5th or 6th best corner in the draft. Yes, he’s fast.

they have definitely had some down years with those picks

Right there with you, sir.
It would be a massive overreach.
