Braswell had a strip sack vs Carolina then the next week he got 5 snaps.
Jihaad Campbell had surgery for a torn labrum and might not be available for the start of the season. "Campbell left the ReliaQuest Bowl with an upper body injury, but it is unknown if that’s when he initially injured his shoulder." This is concerning because a lingering shoulder injury already ended Dennis's season so that would be two linebackers with shoulder issues that began before they were even drafted by the team.
lingering shoulder injury already
definitely a fair point you're making especially when we dont know much about either injury.
I dont know that something like a labrum issue is a worrisome sign for the future though. I just mean by the type of injury. Its not really like an Achilles on an older player, for example, or multiple ACLs etc.
That could have something to do with the blowout nature of the Carolina game vs. the must win Saints game. They must have lost trust in Braswell for those final weeks. I can only presume that the plays he didn't make were the issue. Either he missed tackles of didn't fill the right gap or something. It concerns me that he got a reasonable amount of playing time all season until those final four weeks. If you take out the blowout game he got 13 snaps in those other three games, so that's about four snaps a game.Braswell had a strip sack vs Carolina then the next week he got 5 snaps

Who knows, right? Ive read a couple things that make it sound like it was all more about JTS (and/or a coach) than Braswell, but again who knows. I guess we will all see soon enough
FWIW . .
"n the latest mock draft from The 33rd Team, Kyle Crabbs has the Bucs going defense at pick 19. He has them drafting Scouting Combine standout Nick Emmanawori, he writes, "Getting a freak athlete like Emmanwori to play on the back end opposite Antoine Winfield Jr. is an enticing opportunity for the Buccaneers. If anyone knows how to make the most out of a weapon like this, it's Todd Bowles."
probably not much
If the Bucs draft an edge rusher in the first couple rounds they should just trade Braswell for a pick later on.
SMFH…
Like JTS, I'd rather have the cheap upside potential + depth even if he is a complete bust.
Yeah, I'm not a Braswell fan, but it would be foolish to trade a guy you just used a 2nd round pick on. As has been explained, there are plenty of snaps to go around for Edge rushers - even though the same guy refuses to learn this.
We continue to see issues with not understanding with how the league works.
Yes, we do.
South Carolina inside linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. will be visiting Tampa Bay this weekend
Who's the guy who refuses to learn there are plenty of snaps for Braswell? Todd Bowles? Because he's the one who suddenly couldn't find them. Perhaps since you do know how the NFL works you could explain this? But since you didn't offer an explanation I'll assume you don't have one either. If the Bucs draft an edge rusher in the first couple rounds they should just trade Braswell for a pick later on.

Fire?

Pretty easy explanation, as Chris Braswell wasn't very good and didn't earn more snaps last season. It's not difficult to analyze.
No. He had a fair amount of snaps throughout most of the season, usually 30 to 40% or so, from Week 1 through Week 13. Week 13 he earned 35% of the snaps and had a season high four solo tackles. After that his playing time was reduced significantly. Six snaps the next game, only two snaps against Dallas and five snaps in the final game against NO. What happened that he had his snap count reduced after week 13? Was he injured? I don't think so because when it was garbage time against CAR he got more snaps. Doghouse? I don't know, I'm asking.Who's the guy who refuses to learn there are plenty of snaps for Braswell? Todd Bowles? Because he's the one who suddenly couldn't find them. What was his snap count when we desperately needed edge support in the playoff loss to the Commanders - in a do-or-die situation?
