Not ideal but better to be safe because the Bucs need Godwin for upcoming games (especially against the Saints) before the bye week. I have full confidence in Grizzard using Tez, Miller, Shep with Egbuka
the Saints?
would argue 49ers and Lions are tougher games, no?
I think his point (at least mine would be), is that the Saints game is more important than the San Fran / Detroit ones.
Shut down Bourne on the perimeter and CMC can be contained. Mac Jones is also prone to mistakes because his feel for pressure is iffy. Bucs defense has been very good pressure but they need to finish with sacks.

I am typically not one to suggest the Bucs are being less than honest about Godwin but it is true they didnt disclose the extent of his injury until this offseason (maybe to helpo them get Egbuka), but with that in mind Bowles was asked about Godwin's latest injury and he gave a fairly twisted response:
“It’s a different fibula,” Bowles said. “A different part of his leg. He is week-to-week with that one.”
The easy way for Bowles to quell concern would be to say it was his OTHER leg, but he didnt say that and since even Godwin only has ONE fibula lol . . . he may have a different kind of injury to a different part of his fibula, but because it is his damaged fibula that would be much more concerning than the other leg.
Bowles also went on to suggest he hadnt spoken with Godwin or the trainers about it as of Friday. Very weird.
I guess we will see but maybe Godwin will be out longer or may take longer to get back to form
After 5 weeks we are down 5 starters on offense: Evans, Godwin, Goedeke, Irving, and Mauch.
On defense we are down 3 starters: Kancey, McCollum, and Morrison.

he was a big market unrestricted free agent so I’m expecting that they did a full medical evaluation to see how his recovery was progressing. They made a huge investment in him and I’ve got a bad feeling that he’s never going to be right again. Wonder if they had any concerns when they did their medical evaluation on his progress.
This is ridiculous
now egbuka
Can Evans and Godwin be back Monday against Detroit?
from what I heard they could but I wouldn’t rush them back. if noone else gets injured we will be really strong after the bye and our schedule gets much easier in last third of the season

I don’t get this premise of rushing people back. Either they’re cleared to play or they’re not. Obviously none of us want our players to get injured again, but every time happens people look in the rear view mirror and say we rushed them back.

Players can get "cleared to play" but that doesn't necessarily mean they are 100% healthy. You'll hear guys say that they would play if it was a playoff game, meaning they can play but they aren't 100% healed from whatever injury they have. You can definitely rush guys back from injuries, especially hamstring injuries.
Licht on the performance so far with injuries
“So we’ve got get through these games, do whatever we can to win like Todd [Bowles] and his staff have been doing,” Licht said. And I’m very proud of what we’ve been doing with the resiliency and how we’ve won here. Especially with the play of our quarterback at the end of the games.”
"The ones that worry you are Bucky and Godwin; I can’t get a solid answer what’s wrong with either of them,” Barber said."
Alright, someone pass me the live chicken. It's time to perform the healing ritual.
HAIL FOOTBALL SATAN.
Its working Beatles
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that Evans is expected to take part in practice on Thursday for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 3. The Bucs are holding their first practice of the week because they will be playing the Lions on Monday night.
Is Goedeke on IR? If so, for how long? He must be because he’s never mentioned in any reports.
have a bad feeling about this one. Same as McMillam. Doubt we see either of them again this season.
