OK Winston is suspended at least the first 3 games. Could be more if he does not follow NFL mandated actions, probably either a rehab or discrimination course. Sorry, but I don't have a lot of confidence in Winston to meet all the requirements and avoid further suspension. The NFL is not playing around and will smack him with more games in a heart beat if he tries to get cute.
That being said, how should the team approach the season now? Personally, I think Winston should now be the #2 QB on the depth chart. We know we will need Fitzmagic in the first three games if we want any chance to win them. So I think Fitz should get all of the starting reps in camp and pre-season. He might surprise us. Besides, remember we let Dougie have most of the first team reps last year then lost him to suspension and the running game fell apart. If Barber had more first team reps in camp and preseason, he might have started off stronger? Besides, making Winston #2 might teach him a lesson. He won't lose any real money but if he losses his starting gig and has to play backup all TC and pre-season, maybe it wakes the kid up.
