Teddy @7 would be too good to be true.
There's that little tiny risk of completely wasting a top ten pick though , I.E. - the chance to acquire an elite talent. No big deal ....
Is an elite safety better than an average QB? If the Bucs had consistent average QB play last year they would have been a .500 ball club.
Not really , considering you can sign an average QB in free agency and you aren't going to get an elite safety on the open market until he is on the decline. Also , what if he isn't average ? What if he is Blaine Gabbert instead ?You want average ? Sign McCown instead and then use that top ten 10 pick to surround him with someone like Greg Robinson or Sammy Watkins .
There really isn't an "average" QB truthfully. There are the good and not good enough. What is an average guy?
Pros:-Throws a very nice ball. Beautiful arc and soft touch. -Makes good decisions.-Accuracy is elite.-Has enough mobility to be a plus.-Does well at seeing it before it's there. Throws his WR open.-Plays smart and protects the ball.Cons:-Body has not developed. Very skinny and that is a concern. Can he hold up in the NFL with the beating QBs take?-Throws a beautiful ball, but does not have a strong arm. There is no fast fall in his arsenal. Often appears to "push" the ball when throwing deep. -He is a humble and intelligent kid, but he just turned 21 and there are questions as to whether he has that confidence and mental toughness to grab an NFL team and lead it. -Hasn't really shown the ability to deal with pressure and preform late in games. I believe there are plenty of teams that don't think he is worthy of the #1 pick. I'm sure there are some that think he isn't a top 10 pick. I highly doubt there is a single team that thinks he isn't a 1st round pick. This is mostly a smokescreen imo. Ideally Bridgewater would get to sit and develop for a year, both mentally and physically.....but we all know that ain't happening.
Sounds a lot like Mike Glennon doesn't it. That's why I don't understand the love for Bridgewater and hate for Glennon. I expect we sign Josh McCown to a moderate 2 year contract and let him and Glennon battle it out this year.
I like Teddy, he has all the tools, and something between the ears besides air. [#5}But that skinny build concerns me, the guy is a toothpick. People say, not to worry, he will throw on 20-30 pounds. But its not that easy. And the extra weight could change his game, and not in a good way. But having said that, I would still draft him at #7 if we had the chance. But if it was him and Clowney sitting there at #7, Clowney every time.

The weight concern pertains to Manziel much more than it does Teddy because of how much Manziel leaves the pocket and how he runs recklessly at times. Of course you would want both of them to be naturally 230 and very solid, but to those who throw out the weight concerns becuase of injury susceptibility, the same applies to Manziel 2-fold.

Fair points. Its just that every time I see a clip of him, I am shocked all over again by the skinny physique.
1. Being 5'11" 210lbs is a lot different than being 6'3" 205lbs. Huge difference. Johnny's size is a concern....Teddy's size is a huge concern. Teddy needs to show up at the combine @215lbs or more. It would do wonders for him. 2. Bridgewater = Glennon? Are you on crack? Lol.
I won't knock Teddy's size, until he weighs in at the combine. Even if he is 205-210, give it a year and he'll add some weight. All the rookies do, look at how small Kaep was when he was drafted to now.
Kap was 233lbs at the combine.
Bridgewater is the exact same size and build as Jonathan Banks. I don't think people really get how scrawny this kid is. It really is a legit concern.

He can always put on weight. LEt's make our judgments after the combine weigh-ins, then we can really start nit-picking.

Manziel's size + scrambling style puts him at a much bigger risk of injury than Teddy's size given that he is more of a "pocket QB" with mobility.I mean, risk of injury is really the main thing driving this "scrawny" talk, right? Or is it an idea planted that a QB has to be a certain height/weight to have a shot at being successful?
Using that logic, the 6'5" 211 pound Brady (when he was drafted) should have been killed already.Add to this, Bridgewater has no injury history to speak of. Ridiculous really. Manziel is much more of a concern due to the amount of runs he makes and scrambles around. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSFcg7w-4cIKIthdCWDGgJQESAV7Ca78uEPZLLwqV_Jij-3RC1l
There is no way in hell Manziel really weighs 210 pounds as skinny as he is and only being 5'11. If he weighs in at 205 at the combine he is smuggling lead in his anus.Look at him:
