French Montana?
Brady and Montana arent good examples....just because...
How big was Matt Ryan? He had to put on some muscle after he got drafted.
There has never been a successful QB in the NFL that has been normal height and sub 200lbs....so I think the concern is a valid one.
Well, you cant say "never". They may have played in an era where players were a little smaller, but Joe Theismann, Fran Tarkenton, and Bart Starr were all in the low 190's and were all at least 6'.
It was a much different game back then. Everyone is is bigger and faster and stronger which is why size does mean something. How much at a position like QB, we don't really know, but injury happens all the time in the NFL and getting worse.
Back then it was also legal to come off the blindside and Earhole the QB. There weren't all these rules to protect the QB.
Matt Ryan was 228 at the Combine. He's bigger than he looks.

I guess so because I thought he was lighter than that when he first got in to the league.
Bridgewater is the only QB in this draft I would take over Glennon. I don't see any realistic scenario where he falls to us, but if he does it would be dumb to not take him. Its funny this article compares him to Rodgers because just yesterday I was talking to my dad about the draft and I mentioned how much Teddy's play reminded me of Aaron's.

Defenders were a lot smaller and slower as well.
I guess that's why there are all these guys with brain issues who played back then....and guys like Earl Campbell who are basically crippled..because everyone was so small and slow...

No argument that it was a different game...I am just disputing that "there has never been a successful QB in the NFL that has been normal height and sub 200lbs". That isnt true.

Wasn't that Goodell's fault...im losing track on what exactly we were and weren't blaming Goodell for...

Well everyone was smaller. I mean hell The Hogs in DC weighted like 285 per man....and they were a big tough line. Concussions are about collisions. Weight isn't to stop a concussion because it won't....it is about all the other injuries.
Ok. I shouldn't say never. How about the last 20 years? Is that better? That game they use to play back in the 70s, I know it was called football....but it was not the same game they play today. Not even close. The average size of an offensive lineman in the 70s.....6'3" 255lbs. Seriously look it up. The average size of O-lineman didn't hit 300lbs until the mid 90s. So basing the size of a QB, or any position really, off guys from 30 or 40 years ago is absurd. Everyone is much, much bigger now. http://www.businessinsider.com/nfl-50s-tim-tebow-would-have-been-an-offensive-lineman-2011-10?op=1
