I heard it all this week. Can we now stop with the nonsense talk. It's way too early to talk about all that bull. The Bucs proved tonight that they are not ready for the accolades.

Baker was just atrocious tonight and was anything but, MVP. He missed more open receivers than he's missed all season combined and he wasn't his usual fiery self. Just a bad game and hopefully he will bounce back.

This has to happen now and I'm talking about Dez. Get the man more involved in the offense. This guy is dynamic and just has a knack for getting open. He might be DJ 2.0. If Baker can get his timing right with him great things could happen. What a steal in the 7th round.

Reddick was a bad signing. I've said this from the start and I'm sticking to it. He's no better than JTS.

Coaching was bad tonight on both sides of the ball. They had no answer for anything.

I'm worried about the game in New Orleans next week. I hope we don't start a losing streak.

As you all saw tonight, there is a ton of room for improvement and we aren't quite ready to compete with the big boys. We need the bye ASAP!

PS. Get well Mike Evans. You are a true Buccaneer in the best way. One of my favorite Bucs of all time.

Well, it was a bad game, caused by a ferocious defensive line, which took a ton of pressure off the Detroit secondary  (who played very well). Defense gave up a ton of yards - in the run game and the pass game, but stood tough for most of the game. Some of those drives were short.

Baker just had a terrible game. He was harassed all night, and eventually started hearing footsteps. Tipped passes, 50 of them, with only a 56% completion rate. The right side of the line, specifically Charlie Heck, was awful and fed into those footsteps Baker heard - just sped up the clock in his head - and his passes were high on almost every play. Missed wide open shots. Grizz awful playcalling early didn’t give Baker any rythym, we seemed to only go for chunk yards. But this was more on Baker than Grizz.

Don’t know how many other teams on our schedule can mount this much pressure on Baker - but with those line issues/no run game - now even the Saints game no longer looks like a lock.

We didn’t need the game, but I was hoping we would have been more competitive. We weren’t, offensively.

We need some horses back (CG, Bucky, Goedeke, and JMac), we lost our HoF WR1 for more games. We need some help - and Grizz better get in his bag, because that was the worst game I’ve seen him call.

Early in the game, the defense held Lions back from scoring and kept it close enough, but our offense never threatened them.

Defense looked pretty good. As off as the playcalling was, in the 2nd half, guys were open, Baker either couldn’t hit them, or just completely missed them.

Lots of things went wrong & once again, Bucs were not ready for prime time.

Time for a trade for an edge like Trey Hendrickson and/or an ILB like Quincy Williams (maybe a RT).

Awful game, Bucs offense stunk up the place. Defense held up, Jamel Dean continues to surprise.

Snap & clear.

Baker played so bad that i am not sure we are Superbowl contenders now.

We've seen Brady have a few clunkers, particularly against the Saints, in our 2020 and 2021 campaigns so i dont want to overreact but this Baker reminded me of the 2023 version where he had alot of good performances but some shit performances as well.  Haven't really seen this baker in 2024 or this year until last night.

That Detroit defense was ferocious - likely due to their own lack of commitment issues in their loss to KC - so I’m not worried about Baker. He has a high pressure/stress point, but  the Detroit defense was good enough to exploit it.

Hopefully this sent a message to Licht, that if we’re going to be a contender, we have some real weaknesses that need to be addressed with a couple of trades. I know ILB is a tough “get” and steep learning curve in Bowles scheme, but it’s a weakness. The Esge position can be addressed with any player like Hendrickson - but only if the Bengals aren’t thinking that they can make a run with gray beard Flacco. That’s a nutty organization, so that’s not a lock. Maybe there are other options. Hopefully there are, because the Reddick experiment has been a flop so far - and even if he isn’t injured badly and he comes back after the bye - what do we actually gain from it?

The RT issue can maybe be addressed with a trade, but is it a priority for Licht?

This was a great test, if we can fix some key spots, we can play with anyone once we get our missing horses (Bucky, JMac, Goedeke, etc) back. But losing Evans is crushing. He actually caught both chunk passes - but one was ruled out (questionable) and the injury understandably caused Mike to drop the second. He was in the right spots and rounding back into his stellar self. No one like him.

All-in-all, that was what we needed, we did not have to have that game, we played well enough to be ahead of schedule. We have some horses coming back - nice to see Mek back and productive (he still isnt 100%, but was amazing for getting back into a productive role in 1 week!), and Tez looks like he’s getting it. Defense played really well, even though they gave up yards - they got multiple stops and forced punts - despite the fact that they were constantly put back on the field with little rest.

I am concerned about some missing pieces that need to be addressed, but Baker has proven he will figure his stuff out and Grizz has to help with that for having some plans to get him in rythym, earlier in games. He seemed to adjust in the 2nd half, but by then Baker was already shell shocked.

The refs are just terrible - and killed some legit budding heroics - which combined with the pressure - seem to frustrate Baker more than usual. Baker needs better play calling/rythym, early (Bucky and Mek and JMac will help this), and better protection on the right side, but Hutch even twisted up Tristan late in that game.

That was a great punch in the mouth. Now, Baker, Grizz, and Licht need to come up with a counter punch.

I’ll be curious to see how each level responds this week.

he had a really bad game, but that kind of awful performance might do him some good in the long run. Enough of the MVP talk

you guys realize that Baker was hurt somehow, right?  Not sure when it happened exactly, but he clearly wasn't feeling right.  But through the entire second half he was throwing with just his arm or his shoulders; he wasn't involving his lower body at all.  And by the 4th quarter he was sinking down, almost doing a mini-squat when he tried to throw deeper passes, but not rotating his hips (which is his trademark mechanics when throwing deep or for power) which I've never seen him do before, and I've been watching him throw since his Texas Tech days.

Just hope whatever the issue is, it's not serious.

I'll go glass half full...

Defense plays like that the rest of the year and we can find multiple ways to win.

I'm afraid Detroit exposed us and New Orleans will be a loss. They play us tough and have been scrappy all season despite their record.
