I know Lovie Smith was the worst coach not named Raheem Morris in Tampa in the last two decades(The image of that "Yungry" hat still gives me nightmares), but only Jon Gruden has done more for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers than good ole' Lovie!
Good sir, in the season leading up to our #1 overall pick...when we were about to score on the Cincinnati to win the game you said "no way let's roll out 12 men to kill the drive...when conventional wisdom would've said you start Mike Glennon you said "no way Josh McCown is our guy"...when we had the Saints all but giving up in week 17 you said "boys we can do this let's lose one for the Gipper"
Without Lovie there is no Jameis Winston, without Jameis Winston there is no free agent hauls like our last 2 years, there is no hard knocks, there is no national exposure and ultimately the team would have no projectable positive hope.
Thank you Lovie for being terrible enough to get us the cornerstone of our franchise.
